According to this it is worth 4hp..don't know if you saw this.

2nd video just looks like a Ford promo done by Ford employees.

We'll have to see how it performs in the real world.

I really look forward to seeing this car. American cars have improved dramatically in the last decade. In addition to my M3, I have a Ford GT....and I will tell you that it gives up nothing to cars in its class....and as a bonus, parts, although more expensive than other Fords, are usually cheaper than those for my M3, especially service and labor time!! I suspect that this Ford 302 Boss will be an excellent track car, and I like the key idea.

There was a show on cable last night, I think Speed channel, featuring the Boss. Ford was at Laguna Seca (with Parnelli Jones!) to fine tune some things. They said they were using the M3 as a benchmark and that it beat it on the first go around, before they started tweaking, so they felt they had to set the benchmark higher.

well said- I'm actually deciding between the new Boss and the new 1M for a non 2-seater. Boss will sound epic with the 4 exhaust pipes.

i saw it as well, it was interesting to see, they actually gave us the real race car. theirs going to be different colors and graphics for the second year of production, they don't look that bad. They didn't say what they benchmark next after they beat the M3 on their first try, i imagine the Z06.

My biggest issue with having both a Boss LS on order and a new E92 M3 to replace my existing 08 E92 M3 is explaining the extra car to my wife:

"It's a racecar with a license plate."

I also can't wait to see more reviews on the Boss 302.

I just wish we could get a Boss with all the creature comforts, granted you can order a stripper without Nav or Sync and such but it would be nice to have it. Thats the beauty of the M3, you have the best of both worlds. Yes it will beat a M3 around LS but you'll be much more comfy in the M..

Buy a GT or Gt500 if you want the toys.If BMW really cared about the true enthusiasts they would have offered the M3 as a stripped car.I am really impressed by Ford offering the Boss in a very pure form

BMW does offer the true enthusiast a stripped M3..its called the GTS at $130k+...

I to am also impressed they would offer the Boss in a pure form. They should offer the Boss with the creature comforts while the LS would be the pure form.

I'm not complaining..but with the M3 you really do get the best of both worlds.

The reason I didn't buy a Must. GT over the M3 is the interior in the Mustang still has some catching up to do as far as materials is concerned. The plastic inner door liners and the way the back seat is finished is a turn off, especially when you start getting over $40k with these cars. I'm not bashing Mustangs...in fact I love Mustangs. I was 2 years old riding in the back seat with my twin brother in my dads 66 Must. 289 conv. I've owned Mustangs until I got my first BMW..a 01 E46 M3. I think the next generation Mustang out in 2013 or 14 will be a great car...

That first one isn't original... it looks to be a '69 (which is the first year of the Boss 302, My Dad Had one). But... they didn't have a scoop in '69... that came with the '70 Boss 302. So he may have changed the hood since '75.

If I were really buying this thing just to track anyway, I would rather just get the REAL THING from the Ford catalog and pay the $80k MSRP instead of paying markups on the road going Boss LS:

http://www.autoblog.com/2010/12/09/f...302s-race-car/

And plus it is even more rare than a LS edition. Probably need a racing license though.

When I bought my Cobra R in 1995 Ford required you to have a current racing license. They wanted them in the hands of racers not collectors. Of course they only built 300 of those.

They only made 250 in '95, mine was #175. They made 300 of the 2000 Cobra R's.

I had the Boss 302R on order... but I think more is coming from Ford still.
