Camber plates with OEM shocks??

I am taking off a JIC ZMS-S coilover set on the front (rears already removed) and I was wondering about recycling the camber plates from those and re-using them with the OEM EDC front shocks.

Does this make sense? If it does, what might I achieve? The stealer is doing this and the alignment, do I need to provide them with settings?

and thanks...

Assuming the top plates are compatible with the EDC dampers, you would achieve camber adjustability which is good. Also assuming the dealership will adjust your car's camber/toe to your request, yes you should provide them with those specs. I highly doubt the dealership will do that though unless you have someone you know there.

There's an alignment sticky at the top of this forum that has a lot of differing specs listed there from forum members that could prove useful to you depending on what kind of driving you do.

not so simple....

stock springs, stock shocks, stock ride height w/new 18's-
255/35-18 front
275/35-18 rear

street driver in the midwest- driver schools next year

so with that kind of modest use, are the factory settings just fine and if so then I would keep the plates installed in the event that "one day" they may allow "non-factory" settings?

or are there better settings for MY use than what the factory suggests

I am on very good terms with the dealer...

What's wrong with the coil overs?

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

it may not be as simple as "reusing" them. i think camber plates vary by edc/non-edc. secondary to that, a camber plate that was designed for coilovers without considering oem struts may be way off. i'd have a backup plan if you still want to have camber plates and only have one shot to take off what you're using now.

Agreed.

The shaft bearing on the camber plate vary in diameter and the spring upper perch is catered to a specific spring type: 60mm ID Coilover spring, OEM Spring , etc.

Vorshlag sell modular camber plates that can be converted to use with OEM shocks/springs but that might not be the case with the JIC setup.
