2 more months...

And i can pick up the car!

I ordered the car back on Nov 3, 2010. Car was built on Jan 12, 2011. Car arrived here at the dealer on Feb 15, 2011 and will be a DEMO until May when i go pick it up!

Right now she's sittin at about 300 miles so it's still a few weeks away from even being broken in and available for test drive. Time has actually been going by pretty quick for me. So i hope the next 2 months go by even faster

here's a few pics.

You offered your car up as a DEMO? Why would you do that?

Doesn't matter. Unless its free I'll be damned if a bunch of random tools are going to flog my car.

Don't worry, I'm sure everyone is super gentle to an M3. When they test drive it.

I'm thinking a couple thousand more along with a few extra thousand miles of extra warranty. Yo would have to be really brave to do such a thing though!

i like how everyone jumps on everyone's thread that has anything to do with DEMO cars. First of all, you don't know the fine print so please be considerate when you post. I don't question your method of buying cars, so please don't question mine.

Thanks.

Correct, and these demo cars that you all bite your thumb at barely see mileage above the break in....so i don't understand the negativity.

Why post if you don't want anyone to say anything?

If your definition of demo differs from outs, perhaps you should clarify.

Ya, and i know that is the case in America... but here overseas it's different.
First off, anyone that test drives a car signs a contract stating the car they are test driving is their responsibility during the test drive so if anything happens they are responsible...and most likely if someone wrecks the car here, it won't just be a fender bender...and they owe me a brand new car.

On another note, the reason why demos don't get that much mileage here is because there aren't a lot of people that can afford these cars, and it's not like anyone off the street can drive them. They normally have to make a few trips to the dealer, and once they show genuine interest and they are serious, they can get a test drive.

Majority of the time, the test drive is done by my SA and he takes the interested individual on a test drive then comes back to the dealer. So i know how the car is driven, and i trust him.

Lots of wonder post here Drew, and I'll add, what a shitty camera

Furthermore, mine was a demo for 1700 miles, works fine at 3400 miles and we saved a considerable amount of money. Our DEMOs are covered in a way that the most dealerships don't do it. We aren't in America where they tear up shit and don't give a shit. Its a small homely like dealership here and we know the manager extremely well.

OH let me add I pay 140 dollars for full coverage insurance through this amazing company and I'm 24, note that is below the standard.

Sounds like your demos are better handled than here.

Usually it's like:

1. someone wants a test drive
2. copy their license
3. they are told "take it easy"
4. returns with rubber smoking, oil smell, and exhaust ticking with only 100 miles on it
5. person orders a new one, because he doesn't want the one he just manhandled

+1 ROFL...or worse, he does this at every local dealership, then drives 100 miles away to order it at ANOTHER dealership..so the guy who let him tear the shit out of it doesnt even get to close the deal

THAT is a cool feature of you guys' style of demo purchase. Visiting your own car is pretty cool and I suppose you get the services covered as well. Here in the states, you never know how some people are, and its not worth the risk.

demo is demo. no quarter given. not in germany or otherwise. unless that salesman is sitting with every customer which they aren't the car will be tested. its a used car when you buy it so just make sure you pay accordingly.

a trustworthy salesman? that's quite oximoronical. you think a salesman who is trying to get a customer to buy a car is going to make sure they take it easy?

sorry, but I could never whore out my car for test drives. you never know where she's been or how people have ridden her.

having said that, everything in this world has a price, and I'm sure the discount they gave you reflects that. congrats on your M. I hope that dirty little slut is as good to you as she was to those who test drove her.
