Potholes...now this is a pothole

My friend on the Audi side posted this over on another website...I think the stock 335 wheels are strong and heavy...but they couldn't overcome this pothole..I am sure of that..

I guess we have to expect stuff like this up here in Canada. Except the ones living in the rich provinces (British Columbia and Alberta).

I can't imagine driving along and having that happen.

I've been in some big holes before but that's just crazy.

I guess you have to take the bad with the good. Seriously I hope I never get posted out west. I doubt I could afford a house...

A few weeks ago, my friend hit a pothole at night in his e46 330xi. It caused him to spin out of control, but he safely stopped the car. He originally brought it to the dealer who wanted $1400 for a new wheel, one tire and an alignment. The dealer had the rim on display in the service lobby when we went to pick it up it was that bad. We found a used rim locally and went to the tire shop to get new tires mounted with the new rim. You want to know how bad the rim was? Two guys in the tire shop grabbed the wheel, one from the face and one from the back. They PULLED THE RIM APART and the tire came off. Literally, there was a crack that went all the way around the entire circumference of the rim. The face was seperated from the rest of the rim!

I'll have to see if I can get the pics...
