Autodimming Mirrors Without Premium Package Possible?

Don't like anything in the premium package. Don't need the mirrors to fold up but auto-dimming side mirrors should be standard as they are in almost all new (nice) cars. I know auto-dimming rear view mirror is standard but what about the side mirrors? Does the premium package get you only the powering up feature for the side mirrors or does it get you powering up + auto dimming? If the latter, not sure I'm going to spend $2,500 on just the auto-dimming.

Comments?

After i tinted my car i used a small piece of black electric tape to cover the sensor on the rearview mirror. Now because of my tints, the lights from cars behind me will not blind me and I am still able to see at night. With Tints and dimmed mirrors, all you see is pitch black.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think the interior auto dimming is standard without prem..

What Mahmood said: "With Tints and dimmed mirrors, all you see is pitch black."

according to the ca, it is standard and doesn't require the premium package. But I don't see it listed anywhere under standard features on the bmw website??

no matter what your CA says, make sure you get it in writing...this gives you the option to walk if they screw it up. I've heard way too many stories on here about a CA saying one thing, but the car showing up with something else.

I retrofitted a homelink/autodimming/compass mirror into my 335 which didn't have the premium package. It's very simple as bmw makes a retrofit harness, but the side mirrors are probably much more involved.
