Shortest delivery time ever?

So I ordered my car today. It's an E93 M3 with essentially everything. The interesting part is that I went to the dealer to have it custom built and wait (suffer) for 8 weeks. Before placing my order, the sales guy decides do do a quick search and, to my surprise, they had almost exactly the car I wanted in the preparatin center here in NJ, heading to a Pennsylvania dealer. The only difference was that I wanted a polished aluminum interior and the car had carbon fiber. Everything else was exactly what I had configured online.

I though it was a small price to pay to have the car delivered this coming Thu, so i took it!

MSRP $83055. I paid $78000.

Good deal?

Don't buy this car unless you're getting it for MAX $1,500 over invoice.

There are dozens and dozens of dealers throughout the US that will get you any M3 you want for $1,000 over invoice.

I ordered an INDUVIDUAL 2011 M3 Coupe, which is almost here. The dealer is trying to tell me because it is a Special Order Color, that there is NO discount. Should I hold out, and if I do, do you think they cave-in on giving me a discount?

There is nothing special about it, except for the color!

Thanks,

For you since you'll take a nice hefty profit on that as a CA. LOL

The Individual Color is $5,500 extra (this is direct from BMW NA when I wanted to order Frozen Grey).

You can do better on that car - period. Tell them to take another $1,000-2,000 off or they have no deal. They'll fold, trust me.

Thanks,
Taking delivery of Brilliant White/Amarone Individual...1000 over invoice. You should have negotiated that BEFORE placing the order. However, it is still easy to make the dealer cave...they don't want special order M3's sitting on their floor, as most people do not want to pay an extra 5000 for paint. Tell them you won't take it unless it's 1000 over invoice; at the very least 1500.

Please don't assume that. the deal he has is 500$ over. Please don't tell people they got screwed when you don't know the actual $$$ specifics. Thanks

and there is only a set margin from MSRP to INVOICE. it does not matter if there is a IND option or not. Unless BMW magically comes out with mattress money within 48 hours, he has a GREAT deal.

So, to clarify:

- It is a convertible IB with black/CF interior and all the options one can click on minus automatic high beams and iPhone integration. Everything else is in there.

- I paid $1000 over invoice, but the dealer is waiving their inspection fee (~280) and giving me the M floor mats (~190), so another $490 in savings

- Instead of waiting 8 weeks for delivery, the car will be here this Thu.

Was this a good deal or life just taught me a hard lesson?

PS. I could have done a little better if I had negotiate with them for longer than the 3 hours I spent at the dealer before closing the deal (including a half-hour test drive), but I figured two days of back-and-forth phone calls were not worth a couple of hundred dollars...

Invoice is $77,000 so $1000 over (or $510, if you count the waived inspection fee and floor mats) sounds like the average price people have been posting here...

$1000 over invoice is good.

Your MSRP just seemed (seems) wayyyy to high, but I guess you have more than just Individual Paint?

I have Interlagos blue, not individual painting. Not sure why you say the MSRP seems way too high. If you go online and configure a convertible as I described above, that's what you'll get...

Is the MSRP on their website not accurate? The dealer showed me the actual invoice so this is not a guess or an Edmunds.com TMV prediction.

I still don't get this... How I am overpaying if it is $1000 above invoice?? I saw the actual invoice and I know the MSRP as I configured the car on their website. Edmuds and KBB gave me exactly the same MSRP...

How can I get a lower MSRP than the one on their website? Please explain as just saying I paid too much is not really helpful.

aite forgive me, i missed out the 19' rims and MDCT

you are right, you are around 1000 over invoice.

IMO, i wouldn't pay close to 80g for an m3.......

Below is Edmunds.com. Unless we are looking at different websites, your number is not correct.

So 1) the MSRP is not wayyy to high and 2) If you read the Edmunds website, they say there are some spcific costs associated with differen regions that may not be shown in their search, like the famous advertising fee, etc. I only closed the deal after seeing the actual invoice, which they did not want to show me in the beggining, but I said I would not buy it without looking at the invoice.

Again, I would love to go back to the dealer and get a couple of thousand dollars off the price before delivery, but so far you guys are not really making a lot of sense. Or maybe I am just too dumb to understand the math you guys are doing...
