2009 E90 M3  [6.50]
Jumped into a friends E36 in '00 at an autocross. I killed his best time first run, been hooked ever since. Then I turned into an owner/operator as well as a team tech for a couple friends and got hooked on SCCA club racing. Been in and out of it ever since. I've had E30s, 1 E36 and now the E90. Never had a bad day driving one around town or at the track yet!

Was a teenager and one of my dad's friend got a brand spanking new red e30 M3. I was hooked from the day I first saw that car!

I remember the exact moment that I fell in love with BMWs...

As a kid, I never really liked BMWs. I was much more into lowriders and muscle cars. After I joined the Navy in 2002 I was sent to Pensacola Fl for training. While there, I remember passing by one of the on base car washes and there was a guy washing his Carbon E46 M3. He had the doors open and you could see the cinnamon leather gleaming in the sunlight. Eventually, I came to be friends with that guy. The first time I rode in that car and seen all the red gauges at night I knew I was in love! After that, I obsessed over getting one. After 2 years, I was finally able to order me a brand new E92 335i. 3 years later, I was ready for the final jump to a brand new E92 M3... The rest is history!

Some pics of the car that turned me to the Bavarian side!

I saw an E30 M3 Cinnabar Red around the corner from my house. I knew I had to own one. I bought one a several years later, then bought the E36 M3 after that. Took a break although I wish I owned the E46, may still buy one. About to order my ED e93!!!

Got mine, after many years of buying quick diesels (535d/635d) and really not enjoying the experience. Took the new 640d out for test drive and when I returned a M3 was parked up. Ended up looking back at the M3 more that new 6!
Didn't enjoy M5 test drive, fast but soul less.
That V8 is sensational, and its really easy to park.

Back in 2000 I saw my first e46 M3...I've been in love since then. I just recently acquired my first M, e90 M3, and couldn't be happier! I still want an e46 M3 though...maybe I'll pick one up in the future as a project car!

Welcome to the mpost forum! I see you are a new member ... Enjoy your car

The e46 is a great car as well, I sold my 2002 in 2010 still sorry about doing that. Some day I'll find a good one and work on it to restore it to like new condition that be a fun project.

I had an e34 525i in college and a friend in an e30 M3 use to run away from me. Thought the e30 was a cool car, but was really into the e36 M3 at the time. I remember walking by a techno violet e36 on BBS RCs and being in aww.

My first encounter with an M3 was in 1995 at the local dealership. That was the year the E36 M3 first came out. They had one on the lot, which I just happened to see (was looking at another vehicle there). It caught my eye and I talked to the salesman a bit about it. I knew I had to have one, but could not come close to affording one at that time.

Flash ahead to 1998...I found a great deal on a 95 M3 and bought it. FUN car. I ended up modifying it all the way up to an AA turbo set-up. I started tracking and got hooked. I kept the car for about 3 years, then sold it. After I sold it, I bought a Tacoma and a 125cc shift cart and went road racing. I raced at Sear's Point (Infineon), Thunderhill, etc. It was fricken awesome. However, the wife got pregnant and decided carting was not the safest thing in the world. (LOL). So I sold the cart and truck.

In about 2002, I bought a 97 M3/4. This one I modified as much as I could without going to forced induction. I managed to get a 75 WHP gain out of the car. It was a perfectly balanced track car (which I drove around town too). So much fun. I tracked my a$$ off with that car and started instructing to help feed my habit (if you instruct, your sessions are free -- so I tracked all the fricken time!).

In about 2005, I sold the car and bought a 2004 996 GT3. I tracked the shiet out of that car too.....then I started getting burnt out on tracking. The last year I owned the car, it sat a lot. It is too rough to roll in everyday, especially with a little kid. So....in 2008, I sold it.

In June 2008, I ordered an E90 M3/4. I took delivery at the end of July, 2008 and still have it. After 4.5 years of ownership, I have 19,000 miles on it. NONE of those miles are track time (told you I got burnt out!). I drive it to work once in a while when it is "nice" outside. lol I have done some mods to it, but nothing crazy.

I don't think I have ever owned a car longer than 3 years. I have had my 2008 M3 for 4.5 years already, and I still love it. When I do decide to drive it, I end up with that "wow" factor all over again....

That's my M story.... I am excited to see the new M when it comes out. I doubt I will jump on it as soon as it comes out, but you never know. :-)

I tracked the hell out of the GT3 the first 2+ years I had it. However, the last 9 months or so that I owned it, I didn't.

Read an article about the E30 M3 Evo vs. the MB 190E Evo in one of the major car rags and I was sold on the M3. Followed its evolution since then and finally pulled the trigger 2 decades later. I have serious illusions that my 6 month old boy will inherit my ///M3/4/6...

I have always been a gear head, so I took a temporary (3 month) job in the wash bay of a BMW dealership before going to back to school. I was there when the first new (E9X) M3's came it. It was an Interlagos Blue coupe. It sounded awesome and looked amazing.

Fast forward to now. I make good money, just got a raise so I decided I was going to get one of the last NA M3s. I am currently waiting for the call (to come this afternoon) on whether there is a AW coupe ZCP available or if I have to wait and try to get on the build list.

I went to high school from 1993-1995 and i had a friend whose father owned 3 E30 M3s and we used to call them the Widebody BMW's. We only got to see them parked in the garage and never on the street. Fast foward to summer of 1995 and I was 18 yrs old and my next door neighbor rented out the basement to a hot college girl whose father bought her a brand new E36 M3 coupe in Red. She knew i was a car guy and threw me the keys when her and her boyfriend went away for a week (He had a white 3000GT VR4). A few years later (2005) I got me an E46 M3 and in 2009 I traded it in for an E90 M3 and 2 years ago i finally added to my collection my E30 M3
