Is this at the Performance Center in NC or is this in Germany? How much was it?

Enjoy!! It's a great experience and you get a lot of goodies. Doing the 2 day school back in '09 will end up being very expensive for me as it caused me to lust after an E92 M3, which I should finally be getting this spring.

SC, and about $2K

And since the OP is in Virginia, I see the advanced M School at VIP also in his future

this is at the Performance Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

The 2 Day school is $3,595, but with the BMW CCA member discount it is 15% off, so $3,055.75

I used the $539 in discount to pay a 239 round trip flight ticket from the DC area.

price includes 2 nights lodging at the Marriot, transportation to/from airport and center, food, BMW goodies (shirt, jacket, helmet), and driving M cars

Awesome! The driving at PCD is I'm sure a tiny fraction of what you get to experience at ///M school, but I had a smile on my face the entire time at PCD. Those instructors are real pros, and I drove their car way harder than I can imagine driving mine.

What cars do they use these days? I went in '08 and it was M5's, M6's and Z4M's. Awesome experience and a great town. We had some extra time on the second day and spent time trying to perfect J-Turns in the Z4M! Not sure if it's part of the regular curriculum but the instructors were all great and were having as much fun as the students. Enjoy!

Wow. Price has gone up. When we went it was just under $3K, and CCA got you 20% off. I assume they swapped out the M6's for the 1M's, so that should be even more fun. I was very disappointed with the M6. Short of straight line blasts, it just was not as engaging as the M5 or M3.

not sure since this is my first time, but I assume all the M models. I currently drive a e60 M5, so thats what I want the most track time in if possible. Then the e9x M3 and 1 M.

Sweet, been considering this as well! Silly question for those who have done it, am I required take the basic car control school before taking the M school? Would seem logical...

No. No prior driving is required. You progress through the exercises from slalom, braking, wet skid pads to hitting an apex (track in, track out), until you are hot lapping for the afternoon of the 2nd!!

When I did it in '09 the hot lapping was in the M5 and M3, and the skid pad stuff was in the M6.

My guess is that the 1M will replace the M6 on the pad, and most of the hot lapping will still be in the M5 and M3 with the SMG/DCT systems. Guessing they don't want you doing a lot of hot lap and shifting in the 1M's.
