Summary Of M-DCT Recalls and Updates
Long story short, I just bought an M3 with DCT. While researching for it, I noticed many updates/recalls for the transmission. Just thought to summarize this for the convenience of others.
Here's what I know: 1. NHTSA Recall 08V595000 (Mandatory) Software update to eliminate stalling. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/pr...type=DrillDown 2. SI B 28 07 08 (On case-by-case basis) Software update to address complaint of delayed throttle response under multiple downshifts. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=275116 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=231020 3. SI B 13 05 08 (On case-by-case basis) Idle valve replacement to address rough idle, rough running, misfiring and loss of power. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=276741 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=230986 4. Open Campaign: Transmission Malfunction in Position P (On case-by-case basis) Software update & gear selector switch replacement. Let me know what to add/delete/change. As one of the OPs of your cited posts, I would like to let other M3 owners know that I still have no DCT lag. The car is completely amazing. I wish that this fix would have been known 9 months ago.
Sorry if my posts were naive, but I know very little about engine technologies.

no issue when i got my car but the "lag" has developed over time...i knew about it but did not seem to be an issue in early days but now definitely slow on the acceleration once you brake quickly and then try to accelerate again...specially on turns but also on lane changes..has been somewhat disconcerting at times...09/ Jan build...7k+ miles..otherwise no complaints...

Useful post. I would like to point out that all issues except #2, the lag seem to be quite isolated/rare. They certainly are not the norm. There are many of us who have never experiences an iota of #1, #3 or #4.

How about we expand this to all recalls and repost it as a sticky in the general section?
