Bassforms e90 fiberglass sub enclosure
http://www.bassforms.com
I was surfing the net for custom sub enclosures and came across this. Bassforms created a fiberglass enclosure for the BMW 3 Series Sedan (see car manufacturer choices under products). Question - does the 2006 - 2009 328/335 sedan have the same trunk dimensions as the 2008/09 M3 Sedan? I spoke with a Bassforms sales rep and they sell to car audio retailers, not consumers, even though their website offers a purchase option. However, if no local retailer markets the product, they will sell direct. They are asking $299 for the enclosure. Funny thing, it was $199 yesterday, so maybe my interest increased the price. Thoughts? I was going to have my shop create one for me, but this may be an alternative. |

I started a thread about this product a while back and I think I remember that the trunks are the same.
Man I wish they made one for the e92

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

It's dumb for them to make only make a sedan version and not a coupe version... there are so many more coupe owners than there are sedan owners.

Received the Bassforms BF3Series fiberglass enclosure and installed this past weekend. I put an Alpine Type R 12" sub into the enclosure which is pushed by a bridged Rockford Fosgate 400-2. Wanted to go with a Rockford P3, but the flush mounting hole was 12.5" and the diameter of the P3 is 12.75", so no go.
I'm impressed with the construction and the bass this thing produces. Sticks out a little more than I would like, especially with the Rockford Fosgate sub protector I attached, but it's a lot better than my original sub box and affords more usable space. And Industrial Strength Velcro (lots of velcro) is my friend as it keeps the enclosure in place, even under hard braking, acceleration and turning. Originally considered bolting into place, but too much work and potential screw ups. They honored the $299 price from their website (which went from $199 to $399 in a mater of days). Believe me I tried to get the $199 price. |

Those bassforms enclosures have to be some of the ugliest fiberglass enclosure i've see yet. Not to mention the poor fit they are painted in this look at me look at me gloss that reminds me of a honda civic upgrade. A BMW is a classy car paint does not belong in the trunk. A factory matched trunk liner would be much nicer. Just my two cents.
