Limp mode on 08 M3

Hi all

I know this topic has been covered quite extensively but I've had a look and my problem is a little different/worse. Spec: 08 E93 M3 6MT,

Car went into limp mode last week for the first time, called BMW and they collected the car and diagnosed it as a faulty throttle actuator, collected it 2 days later (after the part being changed) and drove fine for the next 5 days or so, this morning went to start the car and bam, limp mode again, comes up DBS error, DSC error, Flat Tyre monitor error, engine fault power reduced.

The throttle actuator has been changed by BMW, what else could it be, and why did BMW not pick this up. Luckily the car is still under warranty but it's very frustrating....

Any ideas?

Many Thanks

R

Likely the other actuator or the idle control valve.

Its gone back in to the dealer, they've just advised me that its the second throttle actuator in bank 2. I find it odd that these failed at almost the same time.

Very strange that both failed almost simultaneously but look at it this way, you're getting 2 new ones.

Probably was the battery frankly given random codes. An 08 battery would be failing about now

The throttle actuator has now been changed on bank one and two, alongside updated software, know its running perfect, I have to say seems more responsive though.

Previously on a cold start, the engine would be very loud to warm the cats (which I loved btw) but ever since the new software, it's loud for about 40 seconds then quietens down. It's almost as is it's ready to go. Not really complaining too much as it's made the car substantially responsive and that's with the M button off!
