So what was your honest opinion about the Magnaflow system... They claim about 16 HP gain, light, and I had a Magnaflow system on my previous car (Charger SRT8). I just dont know about a Magnaflow system on a BMW... What do you think?

On my E90, it droned like crazy, like so badly it drowned out my wife in the passenger seat at 2000 rpm. And then it got quiet over 5000rpm. I hated it. It was the worst drone of any exhaust setup that I've owned. Not even any of the other exhausts with an aftermarket X pipe droned that badly. |

None! She reads the credit card bills too. "Hey... what's this paypal thing?"
But yeah, I've done pretty well, mostly by grinding retailers and selling at realistic prices. |

DAAANNNG! Exhaust whore! ES is the shizzle! I have it too and love it. Planning on adding a Challenge xpipe soon. Hopefully, it won't be too loud.

I've always recommended Eisenmann over Akrapovic. It has a much better/interesting tone. Akra is a bit dull, even though the craftsmanship is beautiful. Eisenmann is very nicely made and of equal build quality.

Just wished that the eis wouldn't stick out too far on the e90s
What would you rank the eisenmann sport, akra, and bmw performance in terms of tone? Would eisenmann beat out bmw or would it be the other way around? I'm guessing that akra would fall in last for tone...

hey kit, i know you had a shit load of exhaust setups but, have you had both resonated and non resonated xpipes?
if so can you comment on the sound difference a resonated xpipe makes ie, loudness, rasp, drone, etc?

Honestly, I think the Innotech sounds better than all. The Eisenmann is 2nd, and the Akrapovic and the BMW performance are tied but very different. I like the Akrapovic from 3-4k better (and you get to hear it in that range more often) but the BMW performance sounds better at wide open throttle above 5k rpm. |

I haven't had non resonated X pipes, but given the S65s tendency towards raspiness, I'd always go resonated. Resonated won't flow worse, they're just usually slightly more expensive.

Soundwise, how do you compare it to the M Per Ex?

Question for you guys. I have an Eisenmann Race and am thinking about the Turner test pipes along with a tune. How much louder is it really?
The race is already pretty loud on the street but on the track it's not bad at all. My other choice is to get the test pipes, software and just stick the OEM exhaust on with powder coated tips and rattle can the underside. |
