Dinan Exhaust Deal

I have the opportunity to get a new Dinan slip on for under 2,000. Is that a good deal or should I keep on looking?

Is that price installed, taxed, etc or is it just for the exhaust before shipping, tax, and installation?

Decide on what you want from an exhaust. The Dinan may or may not give you what you want and therefore that will be the deciding factor on the price.

What are you looking for?

It's local and I'd probably get it installed for free or I'd do it myself. What I want is something other than stock that sounds good that doesn't cost 6K like the Akra I really want...

I think the design concept of the Akra and Dinan rear sections are similar in that they won't drone and only make the right noises under hard load.

You can always buy a centre section at a later date.

Infact, I would recommend you do the centre with high flow cats first as this will release the most amount of power straight away.

Thanks, I will probably get the noisy part first for the pose factor. Really, I don't think I need more power. Don't kill me

midpipe is for the most power. if you don't care about the power then the dinan rear is nice as it sounds great and doesn't drone at all. i have both the midpipe and rear. love them both but the midpipe gave it a good amount of power but sounds amazing. i think either is good just depends what you want more. here is how it sounds with both

with just the rear it will sound the same in the cabin till about 4k then it gets higher pitched with the midpipe and outside with just the rear it sounds the same but not as loud

Thanks H Bomb! That makes me think the mid pipe is the way to go! Sounds awesome and I even like the color...

Not a great deal at all. You can get a better deal straight from DINAN:

Although I like Dinan parts (quality/performance/liability/warranty), I hate them jacking up the prices whenever they go on sale.
2,299 exhaust became 2,399 (sale at 1919.2)
439 pulley became: 459, 499 (sale at 375.3, 399.2)

Thank god I ordered my pulley when they were still 439 with 20% off sale (351.2 +tax + 8.51 shipping).

That's pretty lame how they change the MSRP.

Even though I don't like the ever-changing MSRP, I wouldn't go as far as calling it "shady". The price is still out in the open, completely transparent unlike most of the items sold on here. "PM" for pricing.... Blah, Blah, Blah... Just state the effin price! Why all the secrecy? Secret pricing... Now that's shady!

With the special price at basically $1920 (plus applicable taxes and shipping), is this the lowest their exhaust has ever been sold for? Does anyone remember it ever being below $1900???

I thought they had a 10% or more off sale when the exhaust was at the "intro" price of $1999, could be wrong.

that's from my point of view I know that they make good stuff, but keep changing MSRP is weird. Maybe they overstock exhausts??? could be wrong

I got it when they had 15% off sale from 2k intro price.
I think I was the first forum member who purchased Dinan sedan kit that came with spring purch when they had 15% off sale (1099 original price).
And got intake 899 with 20% off sale + $200 Dinan gift certificate I won from dinan event in BMW of San Diego.
Got my pulley 20% off sale from their original price 439.
Unfortunately, I paid only 10% off on the Dinan software.

Hahaha- I know, all my Dinan parts from my previous E46M3 and my current E90M3, I got over 30 points. And... never paid MSRP for it.
