Not likely to happen. This project must have been shelved like the NASA space shuttles.

I'm sure it could hang but the R&D and desire to make it hang isn't there.

I mean the M5 is just starting to show its potential and we've literally hit the end of the f10s life cycle.

The problem is not so much the cars, its the owners and their desire to do what is necessary to make that kind of power or more. Most of the time it seems BMW owners as a whole seem quiet content with their JB4s or Dinan Software and go about their day dragging camrys and civics and maybe a mustang or two. Then that segment shrinks even more to the guys who go further, turbos, superchargers etc. but then it tends to stop, and guys don't wanna buy axles or break things to push it further and they sit tight never pushing these platforms that have shown over and over again to take loads of power on stock internals to the point that we get solutions to go even further.

Kinda sad when you think about it to be content with 10-11 second quarter miles.

Kinda sad??? Lol that's pretty damn incredible for a street car. I've been road racing and quarter mile dragging since 97.....I've taken all types of driving classes, did Skip Barber and a bunch of NASA classes, bmwcca stuff too over the years and I will say one thing, most people that build these balls to the wall 700-1000hp cars can't drive for shit and have no business behind the wheel of a car with that much power. I've seen plenty of kids and young adults die because they were never taught how to handle a car like that or how to properly modify a high HP car in a balanced manner (aka 600hp civics/BMWs/Subby's/Evos, etc...then running stock brakes and garbage suspension). For gods sake a 12 second car is fast enough to hammer most shit on the streets! The car culture is dying with today's youth. End of rant

its ok - most of the super high HP builds dont actually hit the drag or airstrip. They are built, hit a dyno, post some huge numbers, make an online buzz (generating marketing) and go away. Look at most of the High HP E90 non-Ms that put down huge numbers.

I agree 100%...but why stop at 1,000 hp? Most of these M3 owners are a bunch of pussies...that's why I had to order a Chiron...until you've driven at 261 mph, you're just a wanna-be.

Just sayin'.
Yeah go to the store to buy a $100,000.00 Twin turbo kit for a 200k+ car with a v10? your comment is a joke TBH, comparing cars that have 100k+ put in them to a Gintani TT car that they were trying to make affordable and daily drivable? Also FYI Gintani already had the fastest dyno'd e9x m3 and it was 800+ if not more to the wheels (not to disrespect ESS). Anybody who hates on ANY company for trying to make a "go big or go home build" should put up some $$$ and or shut up!

Well it is, getting 1000hp out of these engines is no easy task, it costs tens of thousands of dollars and r&d to ACTUALLY make something sellable, the TT kit is available, and theres ACTUALLY DYNO #'s, regardless any company that goes balls to the wall and tries to get big HP from the s65 deserves a thank you and appreciation for spending the $ and time to ATTEMPT to make it real.

This thread should probably be deleted since the car is for sale with a V1 blower on a swapped motor, and I'm assuming the build is over, as there hasn't been any updates, and its for sale on CL... GLWS

So true !! Youth today have no interest in high HP cars like once upon a time.
I don't see the reason to make all this power? Tracking a 1000hp car would be insane to mange. A majority of us "M3 Pussies" wouldnt get around a track any faster with anything over 600hp anyway IMHO.

Everyone wants to make more power. I just want to use enough of it ..... properly!

The car was for sale on Craigslist with a ESS V1 blower on it, sad to say but until someone gets a billet block you won't see these engines going past 800hp, Fortunately tho the Gintani twin turbo kit which multiple people on this thread and forum felt like talking shit about IS RUNNING and on full E85 and stand alone ecu and did 712hp and 505tq ALL TO THE WHEELS : ) probably the most Tqe we will see on a stock motor s65!

Sad that nothing came of this. I dug the car and the fact that it was attempted.
