Seeking E92 M3 owners in Adelaide
Hi guys,
I have an unusual request. I have an '09 E92 M3 and have had no problems, currently at 14,000 km. However, there are some "issues" I have about the car which I would like to see if are normal and just me being paranoid, or in fact are something a bit more serious. So I'd like to see if a fellow M3 driver in Adelaide is interested in swapping cars for a half an hour or so for me to compare. The "issues" I have are as follows: 1. Rattling sounds emanating from under the car when under load, especially in higher gears and at lower speeds. 2. Steering sometimes seems vague, like the car is wallowing? 3. Car sometimes feels unstable when accelerating out of corners? In all seriousness there is probably nothing wrong with the car at all, but I just need to put my mind to rest and the only way for me to do this is to drive another M3. Of course, the owner would be in the car with me and we would then swap cars to compare. If interested, PM me. Chris |

BMW advise that the only way to fix this is to sell the M3 and buy a 320d. |

Seriously, I haven't experienced any of these issues under normal city driving conditions. Steering is always precise and the car has never felt wallowy. If you want to see what wallowy is like - try a Hyundai E45..... rides thru corners like a Blue Whale on Valium.

Chris,
I would be happy to compare vehicles. I have similar curiosity whether mine is normal. PM me your details. What I have noticed is the following - gearbox noisy - clutch makes clunking noise upon engagement regularly - when power is in normal, throttle response at low speed is quite bad (I always have power button on for sport mode now) - when revs drop to 1200rpm the engine blips annoyingly, sometimes causing a clunk in drivetrain I have never had issues with the steering, but the active steering takes some getting used to. I have never had problems with car stability in the dry, always handles well.
