4 in the rear seat, over an open sheet spread across the leather. they sit below the rear view mirror line and dont budge once in there, you just use the front seatback to lock em in. my helmet on the rear floor.
in my trunk - waterproof toolbox, 1 long flat plastic bin on top of it, 2 small plastic bins on the sides, a folding chair, a jack, a drink cooler (large or small depending on length of event), 1-2 tarps tucked alongside the toolbox, and then room for luggage for a weekend trip. my primary goal-no rattles while driving.. lol |

I did those calculations I while back with 18x9.5 wheels with 265 R-S3s and the Yakima Load Warrior. Better put 3 on the roof, one one the trunk A few people over on M3forum have ran the OEM rack and Yakima Load Warrior. A buddy of mine who ran that setup stop doing so because gas consumption went through the roof (pun intended). That was with an E46 M3 and I can imagine how bad it would get with an E9x. Besides, some of us track far away from home. I know I wouldn't leave my wheels out in the open like that overnight in a motel's parking lot. Unless you unload them to safety into your room and then throw them back on top of the car in the morning which sounds like a hassle. The best solution really is to stuff the wheels inside the car. |

I can only fit three across with wider tires. One goes in the trunk. Then I use a ratcheting tie down through the three wheels and attach to the loops in the back. That way I can drive like I normally do without a "tire rush" when braking hard
Also I use tire totes to protect the car http://www.tirerack.com/accessories/...12-accessories |

I recommend putting a towel over the rear seatbelt latches as they will make a depression in the seatback leather unless you do something to distribute load more over the hard edges of the latches The Tire Rack tire totes are really good stuff, worth the $20 for a pair IMO, especially when you're horseing tires around near upholstery and trim that can get scuffed.

^ that looks like what I did but I also had a huge wing (gtc-300) and a spare trunk lid wedged in for the 6 hour drive LOL. I don't think any other car can do what the e90 does!

When I go to VIR, I drop my two children (7 and 9) off at my parents house on the way. You talk about being packed in like sardines. My son uses the spare tire/wheels are a pillow. I can't get (4) in though. (2) is my max.

those tire rack bags look quite nice. when i used to run SCCA Solo II and Pro Solo, those did not exist. we had to hump them in the trunk, hatchback or back seat. it totally sucked. the best solution is attached.

I thought I had posted this pic here but I guess I forgot...pic from last summer, as you can see two (rears) are stacked the other two (fronts) are side by side
in this particular picture I had removed my rear seats completely which helps with seeing through the rear window, I only bother removing the rear seats for long trips like Mont-Tremblant last year, this allowed me to carry Tool Bag, large plastic container, jack, tarp, helmet, two umbrellas, two chairs, two small carry on luggages (wife was traveling with me also & we stayed a couple days in Montreal) all in a e92 people were impressed with how much I fit in there & distance traveled with all this in the car & only took me 5:30hrs to get to the border with 1 pee stop (wife always need pee) & 1 refuel before crossing border...

Not to revive an old thread for nothing but I am having a execuhitch installed on my e92 m3 in about two weeks. They says they have a bolt on solution. I will update everyone with pictures of the install and end results. They are doing the install.

E90 FTW. I just open up my back door and tires go in and out. I just take out the bottom seat cushion.
