Perhaps that why I am biased towards this opinion. Thinking about it more, though, that system does not work for many games, and it might not work for a Diablo game.

If they chose to implement it I would give it a fair chance, but if they didn't implement it I would not be disappointed.
Hell yea I played UO for almost 2 years when it first launched at it was mindblowing

beta is super short, about a hour long if you rush from first quest to the last. It ends with you killing a "boss" which is the Skeleton King.

If you just do the last quest, killing the skelly king, it should take about 30 min since the map is not random like how the final game will be.

Demon Hunter is a mix of amazon/assasin
Wizard is OP
Monk is kinda like a pally without auras since you can heal allys and have melee aoe type attacks

Havnt played barb yet but im sure its not that much different.
Witch doctor is like a necro and the weakest out of all classes IMO.

O, also you cant assign skill points anymore, i liked it better when you could have instead of pre-set lvl up skill point distribution.

Just read this on another forum:

Diablo 3 release date back to 2012

Despite the recent release of a closed beta, Blizzard has just announced that it's next-gen hack'n'slash, Diablo III, will not be released this year after all.

Mike Morhaine, CEO of Blizzard, explained that 'With every game we make, the temptation is always very strong to launch as soon as possible. However, we didn't put so many years of work into Diablo III to release a game that was almost ready'.

Diablo III was rumoured back in February to be one of the two games that Blizzard would release in 2012, but then had its release date changed to 2011. The announcement by Morhaine appears to be a U-turn on the 2011 release date.

'The beta test is going very well, and we look forward to making the most of the extra time we're taking to deliver an experience that lives up to our vision for the game and the expectations of our players.'

'Next year is going to be an incredibly busy one for Blizzard, and we hope an incredibly fun one for Blizzard gamers.' The other game rumoured to be in Blizzard's 2012 plans is StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm, a follow-on expansion from the previous Wings of Liberty add-on.

that's what i hear too. i saw a bunch of people going through it in an hour or two.

taking away attribute and skill point assignments is a huge deal to me. that was 50% of fun for me. i would spend lots of time just going back and forth on where to add my precious points. i really don't understand this move by blizzard. unless they're trying to reach out to a wider audience. kind of like when Die Hard 4 became PG-13.

I feel compelled to filter the shit Yahoo tacked onto the story.

Fact is, it has not been officially delayed yet and as of now is still targeting fiscal Q1 2012. Yahoo is trying to spin the story into something worse than it is. And while I wouldn't put it past Blizzard to delay again, that isn't what they are saying right now.

Probably safe to now say that Diablo 3 has been delayed again to a targeted Q2 2012. (aka earliest of April release, but not "fact" yet)

The information broke at the Q4 2011 Financials call on Thursday.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature..._AimQQ#t=2181s

However, the financial conference call also said to expect a release schedule for Diablo 3 in the 'coming weeks'.

News link: Diablo

text:
A little update on the status of Diablo III; as expected, a quarter one release is not going to be happening. In fact, don’t expect any game releases from Blizzard in the first quarter of this year. The good news is that Activision CEO Bobby Kotick says the new year is looking to be a good one for the company, and for consumers as well.

“Our extraordinary employees around the world are focused on making 2012 another great year for our audience and stakeholders. Blizzard Entertainment plans to have multiple highly-anticipated titles to release, including Diablo III, and Activision Publishing expects to release a new Call of Duty game. In addition, Activision Publishing expects to continue to grow Call of Duty Elite and launch Skylanders Giants,” said Kotick in the company’s recent financial report.

Publishing chief Eric Hirshberg added that the company was “hard at work on Elite 2.0,” developing many new features that will coincide with the upcoming 2012 Call of Duty release. A Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Content Collection is slated for release in March.

The financial report also stated that the calendar year 2012 promises at least two releases from Blizzard, and Kotick promised that Diablo III would be one of those releases. While the company may not be able to make the “early 2012” promise, an Activision presentation slide shows that Diablo III is expected to be released in quarter two (sometime between April 1 and June 30).

Last month, we learned that the delay was tied up with a number of changes being made to the game—minor and major. In the Blizzard’s defense, Diablo III game director Jay Wilson said, “no one will remember if the game is late, only if it’s great.” With anticipation building for the game, Diablo III community manager Bashiok recently answered a good number of questions on Twitter. Note worthy answers were the 4-player co-op limit, the early digital release and the confirmation that the beta graphics would be final. As far as in-game chat, Bashiok says the public chat channels will not be removed, and will actually be in the upcoming beta patch for gamers to try out

Diablo III‘s release will only bolster the company’s popularity. As pointed out in the financial report, the company ended up being #1 in the US for console and handheld publishers for the calendar year. Despite World of Warcraft’s fall in subscribers, and analysts’ fear of the competition from EA’s Star Wars: The Old Republic, WOW maintained its leading global position for subscription based MMORPGs. The LA Times points out that this is due to the company’s “aggressive marketing and discounting”’; though, the cost in retaining customers was a loss in revenue. However, Activision is bolstered by its Call of Duty franchise; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was the #1 best-selling title for the calendar year. Add all that to Battle.net’s 50 million registered users, as Digital World Research’s P.J. McNealy says, and Activision has a “pretty nice competitive position.”.

I rather wait a few extra months for a polished product than release early with bugs. I've waiting over 10 years, what's a few more months. Glad to see the public chat channels are still going to stick around, now how to keep the bots out of them.

Only thing that worries me is the large hitbox issue.
