iPod draining battery

I was told by my SA that the whirring noise coming from my radio when I listen to am stations was because I leave my ipod connected when car is turned off.

When I accelerate or brake the whirring noise gets louder.

Does this make sense to anyone?

And another one for no noise. Something the ipod sounds crappy. At that time I disconnect the ipod and re install and all is well.

4 months and no iPod issues. Although I do notice the iPod is still on before I start the car in the morning.

If you leave it in the car, it turns off overnight and re-activates when you open the door or unlock or whatever...

Ditto to everyone else. I leave an ancient iPod in the car, which has been connected since the day I took delivery with no noises, and no voltage drain.

The thing they told you is bogus, as everyone here has said.

But I'm curious why you have the noise to begin with. I've run into that before, but there was an issue with the radio. Could it be that some of your stations come in weak and it's picking up static from your engine?
