Front to Rear Brake pad wear
Hello,
My E90 M3 idrive is indicating that my rear brake pads are wearing twice as fast as the fronts. This seems strange to me. All of my other vehicles are/have been the opposite with on average two sets of front pads to one in the rear. What is your experience? Is this an indication of a problem? Thanks, |

How do you get the Idrive to show you pad wear? I have a 09 Idrive btw... I used to have an accord coupe long time ago... it wore rears twice as fast as fronts... so I guess some cars do it...

Car has no way of measuring your brake pads; it's just an estimate based on factory numbers. Maybe it's typical for the rears to wear sooner; only one way to find out . In the mean time, you can measure them yourself and extrapolate their expected life with the measurements provided above .

Mine also says the rears are due before the fronts. I have an e90. I've also tracked it a few times with different pads in it, so the i-drive really has no idea what my pad wear is.
