Question Is this worth the price?

Hi all,

I'm busy negotiating to buy a 2010 M3 DCT sedan with 30000km on the clock privately. The seller is asking $60000. Fair price? Awesome price?

What do you guys think?

Thanks

I think that is a fair price depending on options. DCT is an expensive option but the sedan is a little less than the coupe MSRP so that would put the DCT sedan around the price of a 6MT coupe. Based on what I have seen for 2010 coupes, low to mid $60's is where they are being sold depending on options.

You might want to see if you can get the deal done as a convenience deal through a BMW dealership and get the car CPO'd. Might cost a couple of grand but will give you a much better warranty and would find any issues with the car. I would offer him $58,000 on the basis that it will cost you something to get the car CPO'd and make the deal contingent on that process happening.

Anyway, just a thought.

Good luck!

Yep, good advice. I will try to get this via the dealership as I think the car is being financed.

One question though, the car has the remainder of it's CPO warranty till 2014 or 80000km. Am I wrong is assuming it will automatically be transferred to my name if I buy the car? Or is this a separate process?

Thanks!

That is the standard warranty that comes with the car and would transfer to you. A car that is certified (CPO) gets additional warranty on top of that. I would check with the local BMW dealer to confirm details, etc.
