It's faster than any M3. I've rented a F430 three times and it's faster than my E92/E90 M3.
Oh yeah! Those who compare the two, unfortunately haven't experienced a Ferrari.

Could not have said it better myself and I even tried to in my post. I hope everyone here gets a chance to be in one and drive one. It is all the hype and more.......Steve

There's a big difference between what happens on the street where there are numerous constraints (traffic, road conditions, driver preparedness and skill) and what the cars can actually do.

I'd love to try out a Ferrari - any model.

Ferrari's are pure passion. I prefer the "normalness" of Porsche, but I would die to own and drive a Zonda or a Ferrari regularly.

A BMW is a stupid mass produced grocery getter in comparison.

I did not buy my Ferrari to be the fastest guy out there. But I can tell you the M3 is BORING BEYOND TEARS compared to it. And the M3 is a damned fine car.

And no way in hell is the M3 close to as fast unless you want to dump $20K-$30K into it. And as much as I loved the M3 V8 it is a mere shadow of the Ferrari V8.

So let's just agree that they are both great cars for what they are and leave it at that......Steve
You're living the dream man. I saw some of your Ferrari's pics on a Ferrari forum and it's perfect. Do you drive the F430 as much as your X5M?

I'll always remember this statement from Ferrari's UGR video.

And I agree with your last statement.

I agree you can't compare an M3 to a F430 or any modern Italian exotic for that matter. Though I still respect BMW for the type of cars they build, driving either a Ferrari or Lamborghini is an experience. I've been fortunate to own one (a Lambo SL) and drive the other (F430). Both are great cars and just some of the best fun you can have with your pants on. I can't even imagine what a Zonda must be like! If you want a Porsche without the "normalness", a Carrera GT fits that bill in my mind. One of the most awesome super cars produced IMO and high on my list of dream cars--albeit a little below the Zonda.

For those of you wanting to drive these cars, I'm sure you've heard of the companies that allow you to spend half a day driving different exotics for around $1700. I haven't done it but have heard good things. There's also a driving circuit in Vegas where you can buy laps in various exotics. Haven't tried that either but thought I would mention that as well. Just my .02.

I have put over 3,000 miles on since I got it first week January of this year and it had been winter here until April.

So yes, I am driving it as a DD as often as I can and then geting out to SCCA solo events (two this month ).

I have 24K on the M in 16 months so may be hard to catch up........Steve

You can find it at exoticsracing.com. You can drive several exotics on the track for whatever number of laps you choose to pay for. I took the Murci, GT R, Scud and Italia for a spin. Incredibly fun experience. The Scud was hands down my favorite, even more so than the brand new Italia.

Love the F430, had a buddy run the Lambo/bentley dealership downtown Chicago and was able to drive just about everything but the veyron and Enzo. Absolutely love the ferrari's and lambos, the sound, the look Thay being said actually lapped a 430 in the intermediate group 2 weeks ago. Think I'll take that in my 4 door But yes, Ferrari wins on all fronts but the fact that the little bimmer can keep up and it's really about driver proficiency, really shows how awesome the M3 really is. Plus can't fit 2 car seats on the back

I absolutely enjoy my M3 sedan and probably will keep it until it is dead or I am. Yesterday I drove a Cerrara 4S 2010 and I would say it is very nice. Not sure it is nicer than my M3 but they are different. Today I will drive a Turbo 911 2008. Another different car. So i agree the Ferrari is in its own class. You do pay to play. Gotta know what you want.

You really don't think the Carrera 4S is better than the M3?

I would agree that it is their slogan, but I stole it since it to applies to Ferrari to.

Each of these builders is very unique in their character and march to their own tune......Steve

Jesus people F430's slow??

Firstly, it pulled 2 car lengths in 45 mph.... That means M3s are molasses under some of these theories

Maybe it's not as fast as newer cars (DUH) but the things trap 120+ MPH in the 1/4 mile. That means an M3 or a 335 with every "bolt on" is still not going to take one.

By god F355s are still fast in my head. They nearly match E90/2 performance in 1996

F430 is sooo nutty compared to a M3 in almost every performance aspect.

He probably didn't even realize you were racing him. Still love my E92 though.

really? Thanks for sharing captain obvious lol , it better damn impress you its a 250k+ car. However if i was going to be spending this much money on a sports car....I would take my money straight to Lamborghini

Putting an m3 in the same sentence as a ferrari....is ahhhh retarded!
