I don't understand how so many are getting such good mileage. I drive mixed city/hwy and never get more than 16mpg. My average is probably in the 14-15 range. For those getting 18+ are your commutes traffic free and downhill?

Up to about 20k miles I got 17-18mpg, 50/50 hwy and city. Up to 50K mile it creeped close to 19mpg. In the last couple thousand miles; now at 62,000 I am experiencing 20-21mpg. Right now it is at 21 exactly. My M is my daily driver and taking the same 37 mile route to work everyday. I am amazed at the recent dramatic jump in mpg. 325 mile is the most I've gotten on a full tank from my daily commutes.

Sorry dude but I gotta call BS. There is no way this car gets that mileage unless its on an unusually parsimonious flatbed.

For those of you that are getting tad lower mpg then others are you taking the time to clear/reset your mpg on the dash? over time I have seen the mpg avg number basically freeze.

I clear/reset mine every month to get a more accurate number. To clear simple toggle to the mpg display and hold the toggle button in for 3 sec (the button on the lever on the left side of the wheel)

Typically less than 14MPG due to 95% local city driving.

I reset mine too and it has never been accurate and always shows a higher number than the actual mileage. Sometimes a little, sometimes a lot, but always the number is higher than the real mileage. The only way to get a true number is to do the math at the pump.

Granny was driving that day.

Probably the conditions:

2011 Sedan, ZCP with PS2s. 3000 miles on the ODO.
DCT in D mode, 7th Gear
No "M" mode
Cruise Control set to 70mph
A/C Off
Clear, calm, early Sunday morning, 65 Degrees F
No passengers or luggage
Interstate 95, little to no traffic. No hills/grades. Roads are generally flat here in southeast Georgia
100-mile distance.

The best I have seen was 23. Haven't been able to do it again. Mostly 22 is the best.

Trip to the Wine Store, Cars and Coffee (Jacksonville, FL) and then back home on Saturday (12 May) was 20.1 mpg.

MY daily driver 2002 Toyota Tundra (V8) doesn't do as well as the M3.

Mine always reads quite a bit lower than my calculated MPG. Mine is almost 1 MPG lower than the true value.

~15.7 Local City
~17 Highway
But i've only driven the car 300 miles...we will see how it goes. For now, it's not too bad for 17mpg highway, maybe when i go on a 500+ mile trip It may do 19+mpg

Driving on the highway around 70mph I get around 26-28 mpg, but city between 15-18 mpg. At 150mph I get around 10mpg, but you didn't hear that from me...
