Official iPhone 4S Thread!

It's not that important but these things do tend to sell out and end up back-ordered. If waking up for 4 minutes in the middle of the night gets me my new phone 2 weeks earlier then that's what I'll do.

pre ordered white 32gb 4s....

when talking to a vzw rep about some other acc matters he mentioned 1 vzw ordering is online only and that they are sold out of black 32gb 4s's (10AM), which did not effect me as I wanted white anyway

I'll probably wait to get one rather than renew my contact with the upgrade. I think the new features are good, but not good enough for me to get it right now.

On a side note, when the 4 was released, I pre-ordered it and got it a day or two before it went on sale in the stores

Gentlemen, I had an Iphone 2g, 3G and then 3GS, I was going to upgrade to the new Iphone if it truly was a 5 and was spectacularly different. I've played with a 4 many times and know what's new and none of these upgrades truly warranted getting a newer version of the same phone. With that being said, I bought a droid phone and am very happy with it... there are truly other phones out there now that are very good and do things just as well if not better. The touchscreens in other phones are just as good now as are the other OS', the only thing I see that the Iphone was better in rather than the droid is notifications and the way it displays them on the lock screen as well as visual voice mail. Otherwise, I can see nothing that it can't do just as well if not better... I would truly hate for a lot of people to go out and buy Iphone 4S only to see an I5 come out soon that is dramatically different. Then again, those people will probably buy it anyways lol.

Edit - I also have a Macbook if this makes any difference.

Many of us park large deposits ($500-1,000) to be on a waiting list for a new model of car for months at a time. How is this any different? It's not fun watching other people driving around in the car you're desperately waiting for. To put it simply, we like the new cool toy and we want it first.

But I totally understand how people get excited for it, but I wouldn't camp out in front of the dealership to wait for a car to arrive and I sure as hell wouldn't do that for a phone.

Have any of you scoped out the upcoming Nexus Prime? Seems to be a better device than the iPhone 4s- on a hardware basis.

Outside of the GPU, it doesn't seem any better than what Samsung is currently offering i.e. - Samsung G S2

I don't like the Touch Wiz interface and would prefer a vanilla Google Android operating system. Especially since Ice Cream Sandwich will be legit and hopefully live up to its hype!

Ended up canceling my iPhone 4S. Wasn't worth upgrading my iPhone for something similar. I will have to wait till my next upgrade date of May 2013 to upgrade if I decide to upgrade today.

Going to just sell my iPhone for couple hundred bucks then grab SG2 for $550 on Amazon.
