sorry I know this is an old tread, but im about to replace that sensor tomorrow on my car since I got the p0191 low pressure code and the increased emissions on my car... is it a relatively easy fix? going to do it while the car is cold, gas cap open and a rag under the sensor incase of spewing fuel. dealership wanted to charge me $900 to change out the sensor and the whole line to the fuel tank and I said no ill so it.

I have no idea why... From everything ive read online that sensor is the only thing anyone has replaced due to the issue and code so im just going to go with that. I have an 08 with 56k 6speed so it cant be anything major. Its an AZ car and i took it to cali and within 2/3 min of using ca 91 it came on. Kind of weird..

Just did this, thinking I used a 15/16 socket, which I believe is also a 24 mm
Took a total of maybe 30 minutes. Took longer to pull air box than replace the sensor. I had error 2722 from the bmw whatapp/icarli scan tool.

I changed it and erased the code and hasn't come back yet... only driven 90ish miles. I know it needs a "drive cycle" but just don't have the time or room needed to do that. but so far so good. hope it stays off. it used to idle rough but now its steady so probably okay.

I just recently did mine as well... Easiest repair ever! Let the car sit overnight and loosen the gas cap and the fuel will not even drip out when you remove it...
If you crank the car for any reason prior to the repair get ready for some fuel spray... As I said, I let mine sit in the garage over night and not even one drop came out when I pulled the sensor... $80 at turner motorsports |

Replaced sensor...now lots of codes...
OK, so I've been getting the SES warning, increased emissions warning, and rough idle on cold start ups.
09 e92 M3 I just replaced the low pressure sensor with this part: https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-2...0-f01-f10-f12/ The part number on my old sensor was different than the new one, but they otherwise appeared identical. Replacement was fairly straight forward for someone who doesn't turn a wrench too often. I restarted to check for leaks and found none. However, on restart the idle was REALLY rough for a minute or so. I attached my scanner expecting to clear the two codes that I'd been getting (Bank 1 & Bank 2 too Rich). Instead I found some 11-12 codes. The previous two, but also misfire on each cylinder and "random misfire". I cleared all codes. Once the idle settled down for a few minutes, I revved the engine a few times and all seemed well. I shut it down and restarted after a minute or two. Again, rough idle, but not for as long the first time. I haven't taken it for a drive yet, will do so later this afternoon. I assume that the process of changing the sensor would introduce some air into the fuel system. Could that be the cause of the post install idle and misfire codes? If so, that should work itself out with a little driving. Yes? Many thanks John

Took it for a spin around the corner. No codes, slightly rough idle on startup, but less than before replacement and for a shorter period. No issues while driving.
Any thoughts about all of those misfire codes that I got? Thanks John

I this you should take it to a dealership or a shop that works on BMW. They can trouble shoot your problem. I replaced mine, code when off and that was it. |
