Siemens/Continental VDO Actuators??

After rebuilding both of my actuators with brass and delrin gears and attempting (poorly) to solder the mosfets on my failed bank two actuater I began searching for the best place to source these for our cars. I'm sure this topic has been beaten to death but the price appears to range from $800-$1200+ per actuator which is obviously ridiculous after seeing what is inside these things. I then contacted Siemens which lead me to Continental VDO. These are the OEM source for TBAs to BMW. I took a chance and got one (Pelican Parts has them occasionally but I have a friend who works for Siemens). Interestingly enough the TBA has the same part # as the BMW TBA but the BMW sticker that normally would be on the actuator itself was taken off. Has anyone else used these before?! I paid $543.00 SHIPPED!

Yes I bought mine direct. You can get the same actuator from Pelican Parts though as well.

Not finding it on Pelican Parts. You have a PN?

I'd think ECS would want to carry these!

I don't get it. You went with an OE part and saved 300 bucks. Thats like buying a TRW control arm for $50 vs. BMW at $100. The difference is you're paying for the label.

Here's a better priced one if it's in stock

That's exactly the point. He got the same part, without the BMW sticker tax, for less money. What do you not understand? This isn't a hard concept.

Because if this topic is already beaten to death, the OP should've known that Siemens / VDO is the OE supplier for TA's, especially for someone who was rebuilding the internals of one. A search for VDO will answer OP's question on same P/N and the functionality of using a non-BMW branded TA, plus the massive savings on the wallet. This isn't a difficult logic concept.

As of now you can contact VDO in several ways through their site and see local dealers where you can order parts direct as a private customer. I purchased mine through a contact I have. I'm waiting to hear back about the availability of these for anyone who wants to buy them. Continental VDO announced an OEM Direct program in Nov 2016 and are in the process of adding additional products. As soon as I find out more information I'll post it asap.
