Beautiful car, looks fun. But I sure hope you never need that door bar to hold up. Janky terrible job on it. Bent unproportionally and terrible welds. I've needed the cage before and trust me, its not something you want to leave in the hands of just anybody. Might want to get that checked out.

What series are you racing in? BMW CCA club racing? SCCA? Car looks great. Have a great time!

Just wondering how are you able to get over 4 degrees of camber? What hardware are you using? I can get about 2.8 with the Vorshlag plates, that's about it.

vorshlag allowed me 2.8 as well but that is at stock ride height. the further you drop the more negative you can get out of the plates. if that doesnt work you can actually modify the strut tower to allow the plate to shift further.

I could probably get 4 with Ground Control kit - the car gives me -1.4 stock, then I can get just over -2 extra from the plates, plus some more from lowering - would come to 4.

Avoiding money shifts, avoiding red-line. Only testing and tuning at this point. I'm instructing at these events and these are instructor only runs, so I'm not max'ing out anything at this point. Not yet. Don't want to risk engine failure or major catastrophe before race season. It's like when qualifying. A few good laps to determine position and then back into the paddock to wait for the race.

SSRs. Not really fond of them. Bought them from a fellow racer. Wrong offset for this application and would prefer 10'' wide. But they are super light.

Yea It could just be the photo I guess, I have NASCAR bars on my BoxsterSpec and my MX-5Cup, but they don't look like that, and my GT3 has normal X-weld door bars.

I would welcome you to take a look. We did a new hybrid design. The key is the bar size and number of bends. It slopes slightly for ease and the support bars are a bit thicker. It's really nice.

He is saying the welds look rough. I cannot see the pics close enough, but it does not look like TIG welded 4130 chrome moly tubing. Looks like a quick MIG job, but again I do not have hi-res pics. The paint hides a lot. TIG adds a lot of hours to your cage cost, but worth it to me. my experience is more with exo-cages on rock crawlers though. No speed, but upside down in a hurry.

Is the cage mild steel? Mild steel allows for MIG. 4130 Chrome moly must be TIG welded for a cage.

So finalized the class. Car will be in B-Mod. Here are some updated pics. Debut will be at Calabogie, Canada in July. Last weekend were the finishing touches. Just needs corner balance and alignment. Enjoy!

Driver side door cleaned up and trimmed. Removed nearly 15lbs of extra weight from one door. Need to finish the passenger side door. 4. Splitter complete and attached. Will adjust cables as necessary. 5. Middle net adjusted and moved forward. 6. Secondary fire pull cable run 7. Secondary battery cutoff switch run.
