Thanks for the very detailed info.

I will state that when I spoke to both BMW North America and BMW Canada, neither of them mentioned a charge for the letter (I considered buying my X5 in the US last fall). Both parties seemed amicable to the importation process.

Sorry I do not, perhaps you can check on the net and / or with The dealers.
