If you quote anything from a vendor who is trying to sell you something, and then take that advice as the 100% truth, you deserve to lose your money. Until there is sufficient testing done by an independent reviewer and or garage that show an average mileage the lsd begins to fail, you can't put value in any mileage. All speculation up to this point.

The LSD unit has a service life. I wouldn't rebuild the LSD unit until it gets to a point where its no longer providing any lock. Its not like a non-functioning LSD unit is going to explode and cause lots of damage. If you track your car and put a lot of heat into the diff, then your service life will be a lot shorter than a street driven unit.

Some 'ignorant' individuals complained that the LSD was not silent in use and hence BMW decided that noise reduction fluid must be the default option and hence the standard fluid now contains it too. Perhaps it is that or maybe a different change. I just buy the diff oil from Castrol. |
