I'm fascinated by how amazingly lucky this guy was. Missed the shrubs, the trees, the sign, the light post, no on-coming traffic despite that being a busy street.

Lucky indeed and that hard landing caused the gas door to open. Hopefully damage is minimal.

More "usable torque" isn't for everyone.

That's unlikely. 4 new wheels, possibly tire or 2, bent suspension components.

I'm so badass that I turn off traction control when leaving cars and coffee

Wow.
Regarding the exhaust note... Not saying I wont' someday consider an M4 - but there is no doubt - the NA M3s of earlier generations including the S65 V8 and S54/S52s Inline 6s sounded so much better than the current M3/M4.

Why do people think traction control was off? I don't hear or see any wheel spin, just a kid with a small dick driving in the wrong direction.
Exhaust does sound like ass

from page 3 of this thread. I like this post, where the guy asks if the driver will provide commentary on a slow-mo of his humiliating experience. Last edited by Konig; 01-05-2015 at 12:58 AM.. |

I have never bothered to listen to the exhaust note of the new M3/4. I didn't think it could be as bad as people made it out to be. I was wrong. I have to say, I am not impressed. At all. Ill stick to my N/A V8, thanks.

Hmm...interesting to read the posts here and on the M4 forums.
On the M4 forums there are comments about how rigid the chassis is and the danger of driving without DSC. Here the comments are about how bad the exhaust sounds and the "useable torque" of the turbo engine contributing to the accident. Funny how these comments don't overlap. |

You might have mentioned that in the other thread the overwhelming majority expressing something of a favorable, comforting, been-there-done-that nature haven't bothered to recognize the illegal actions (i.e. reckless driving, driving wrong way, failure to signal, etc..,); presumably because [fill in the blank].

This video really highlights two flaws of the F8x IMO, the not so predictable power delivery and the very very bad sounding engine. lol
: At least the guy is ok and more importantly every one around. It would be easy to accuse him of immaturity behind the wheel, but what I see him doing is something I think most of us do on a regular basis, at least I do it, hammering the throttle at low speed in a straight line, nothing extraordinary IMO, just a very surprising result, even with my supercharger I never came close to lose it that bad in a straight, F8x totally different animal I guess!!
