Engine Misfire rpm 1000-2000,
Hi,
So I recently post a thread about the problem i had with my car, The car which happened to felt power cut and felt like something is pulling backwards during acceleration. after bringing it to the dealer the car was diagnosed with a misfire, with not tranmission memory errors etc. they tried it up with new spark plug and the misfire still happen on 1000-2000 rpm even on operating temperature. the dealer will try to diagnose if there is a coil that is not working properly, but it will take time. sometimes the forum have better and exact solution from those who've experienced it first hand, I'm really hoping that somebody who has experienced and fixed this issue could share. The car only had 3400 km on it.. modified midpipe and muffler and that's pretty much it.

Oh man... Why didn't you ask on here before you went into the stealership? Check this link out, I hope it'll save you (one day) money down the road. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1245204 |

so it won't cost much if it's a small fix. however quality of work may be way lower. I'm travelling so much this month that I couldn't make the time, so end up sending it to them to get faster fix. my only concern now is that the car will be good when I come back and ready to be driven. thank you

I asked the dealer about the special code, the SA told me that there is no code regarding this.. and it said misfire in cylinder 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8.. they changed the spark plug.. and COIL as well they said... however I am not sure they are doing this properly.. but also another clue is that this doesn't happen at 2000rpm - up. can bad coils or bad spark plug only trigger mistake at low rpm.. and works fine on higher rpms..

If you have a misfire in all 8 cylinders it's highly unlikely that all 8 coils went bad
There may be a reason why the dealer labor is so cheap there |
