Floor mats moving around
Don't know if anyone else has this problem, but my floor mat likes to move around. It moves forward until the edge is starting to go up the left foot rest and in some positions when I press and release the clutch it catches the mat and feels not nice.
I was thinking maybe sew velcro to the bottom? Idk some cars have a little hook/snap thhat holds the mat in place but not ours :-( |

get some friction mat at your grocery store, home depot. it is sold in the section where you buy shelf liners.
it is rubber mat with holes in it. cut a 8x11" section and place it under your floor mat. no more slipping. |

Try asking your dealer for the Velcro hooks, mine forgot to put them on the floor mats at delivery on half the cars we bought.

Guys, I just got these things in the mail today (crazy fast shipping from that ebay link)
I have no idea how to install them! My floor mats have the soft velcro pads, but my floor has no holes to plug the little discs into. Am I supposed to cut the hole myself or wtf? |

Thanks that helped. Just went out and installed them in about 30 seconds. The slots they snap into are covered by the carpet and impossible to see. I had to feel for them.

Here's the problem I have, the plastic pieces I installed on the floor are fine. For the mat itself, it came with velcro circles that taped to the floormat. Well, with heat and moving around the glue eventually separates from the velcro pad and the mat. I don't know a better solution other than trying to just sew on some velcro pieces into the mat itself. Or am I doing something wrong???

Can anyone confirm whether or not there are holes/slots for hooks on the front passenger side of a '11 e92? I have the velcro hooks for the front drivers mat, but recently swapped them out for my WeatherTech DigitalFit winter mats and they included two sets of hooks. For the life of me I can't find the slot on the carpet on the passenger side.

My floor mats are sliding around too much. The factory glue on the back of the Velcro has given way.
The glue is incredibly tacky, but not enough to hold the Velcro circles. Anyone know how to remove the glue or fix the Velcro? I've tried heating it up, cooling it down, but it's near impossible to get it out. It took me near an hour and a half to get most of it off the back one one mat. It's the small groves that are the problem. |

Finally got around to fixing the all weather mats. Left them out in the sun for a while which made the glue as seen above soft and was sable to dig and peel most of it out. It was still a pain but easier when hot then cool.
Phoned my local BMW store who said they didn't carry anything (glue,Velcro) to fix them and suggested some type of gorilla glue. After speaking to some knowledgeable folk and doing some research, I decided on "Shoe Goo" since it's probably the best adhesive to the materials involved. One tube is enough to do 2 weather mats (4 circles). Seems pretty good. We'll see how long it last. Should get several years out of it… |
