Hi I'm new!!! Doubts on e90...

Hi all...

My name is Dio, I'm from Madrid (Spain).

I currently own a M3 e46 SMGII Convertible, with which I am fairly happy.

It's the third M3 I own after having a Euro Spec 286 bhp '95 M3 e36 and a USA Spec '99 Convertible M3 e36.

I'm seriously considering buying a M3 e90, and just wanted to have the opinion of the current owners of that model.

Which options do you consider as a "must" for this car?

Thank you in advance for you help.

Cheers.

In my opinion NO options are a must, I firmly believe that an M3 without any options still is an AWSOME cars that I would love to own.

Having said that I love my Navigator, Comfort Access, M-drive, EDC, iPod adapter and Carbon fiber leather. The only option I have that I really don't make much use of is Enhanced Premium Sound, I listen mostly to Satellite radio and the sound quality on that is crappy anyway, that is 1900 USD I could have saved.

If you can afford it, I would load it up, if not you will still love the car.

M-Drive is a must if you are going for the DCT.

welcome,

i agree that the car with no options is still an awesome ride, However, its that much better with all the options IMHO, in the end, it comes down to each persons budget. I think the best option is the Tech package.

DCTFTW.

I'm curious why you think so. The only functionality MDrive adds to the M-DCT is the ability to set a DriveLogic mode to the M Button. If a person can live without the all the settings enabled by MDrive and the M Button with a 6MT, I don't see why they could not live with it if they had M-DCT also.

Thank you all for your warm welcome!!!!

One question: here in Spain, many people have told me that even if I'm going for the 6MT, I should go for the M-Drive as well...

Is that so? Is the M-Drive such a blast?

On the other hand, I am counting on including the EDC, Electric Roof, Professional Navy and Sound System and a few other minor options...

Thanks again.

Cheers!!!

Favorite options: DCT, Nav, M-Drive
Not worth the money: Premium Sound - the gap between stock & premium sound ain't worth $3k

If you guys are gonna make statements please get the pricing correct. Plus he is not in America so the audio options are different.

a thousand mea culpas, I forgot it was 2k. That doesn't change the fact that the majority of the audiophiles on this board didn't think it was worth the premium.

Moreover, I'll work diligently to get some contacts at car dealerships in Spain.

Honestly nothing is a must. The two features that I actually use all the time and I'm happy I ordered are EDC and Prem Snd. EDC is my favorite option so far. At least in LA, the roads are really shitty and I love switching to comfort as needed and being able to tighten up the suspension nicely as soon as I know I'm getting to a spot where I can drive a bit faster. I also like being able to hit the stiffest setting if I think I might scrape.

Also, I like the Prem Snd. I find it's a bit of a step up from the Logic 7 and worth it to me because I use the stereo so much (as opposed to the Nav, which I'm glad I have, but I rarely use, so it's hardly a must).

I agree with the folks who said Tech pkg, whichever transmission you decide to go with. The Power+ throttle setting and the Sport steering setting are only available with that package, and completely change the character of the car when you're pushing her hard.

Also agree that the premium sound isn't worth the $
