LOL, some folks on this forum will defend their personal preferences to the grave regardless of how ridiculous and contradicting they sound.

I've had my front euro plates (red temp ones) on since my Euro Delivery trip in 2009. It even has the expiration date nicely stamped on it. Not to mention, I still have my freeway passes on my windshield from Germany and Austria! Personally, I feel that my ED trip was one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life and I'm damn proud of it. Additionally, I think the plates looks awesome and certainly matches my red decals on my TE37 SL rims!

There is sentimental value to my front plates and I'm sure as hell not going to let someone tell me otherwise.

It would be awesome though. But you'll probably get pulled over quicker than you can convert 0-100km/h 4.7 sec to mph.

I like the Euro plate as I had my E46 and E92's both registered in Germany and stil have them both, But IMHO, I think your front end looks much cleaner without the front plate... Thats just me...

Yes. As for me I have a kick ass M3 built in Germany, picked up at the Welt, driven on the autobahn and over Stelvio pass. People love to hear about our European delivery. If you also had a great trip in Mexico picking up your Ram, eating tacos and drinking tequila display your Mexican plates and tell your friends all about it

Put the euro plate behind the rear plate. Best of BOTH worlds.

I'm keeping my euro plate on when I move back and I couldn't care less what other people think. I worked hard to get a job here, I worked hard to make a life here, I'm going to enjoy the memories of my time here.

+1

If your Euro plates are REAL then leave it on the way you like it. Big no no for people who get them made with bunch of German charters and put them up...

I am exact opposite of you in that regard though.... I have no plate up front but my ED plate is under my US plate as a souvenir....

When you do ED on a Volvo, their brackets are actually designed to hold both the Euro plate and the US plates....

I know there is a larger population with euro plates on. I just saw pictures taken at a MORR meet and there are 5 cars with front temp plates.

The responses in this thread are comical. Implying that the OP is trying to be a poser, despite having had the car registered in Germany, or better yet that he is trying to be a braggart. He just wanted to rap about style, and people act like morons.

Show some respect to another human being; not to mention one that is serving his country.

People on this forum need to smoke more weed and have more sex.

No. If you really like the plate, hang it in your garage.

Hahaha finally someone said what I was thinking!! You can keep your euro plate as a memento and a reminder of the memories and experiences you had in Germany. Who wouldn't want to? but if you TRULY started this thread for cosmetic input, imo there is no way that the car could ever look better with ANY plate on, then the way it looks clean.

Heck... put it on the forward facing wall in your garage, every time you get in and out of your M it'll be a reminder, but unless you're really trying to put it out to the public that you've been to Germany in the car, I see no reason to advertise with the plate on the vehicle.

My 2 cents. Definitely keep the plate, just not on the front bumper. Ultimately as a lot of people pointed out, it's your car man, do you, but personally I'd be lying if I said the car looked better with the plate on.

Off topic: I'm assuming that picture is of Officer housing? I'm impressed, that's probably the nicest base housing I've ever seen.

I like the fact that it adds something different to the front of the car.
Genuine plates are authentic and custom ones are fun.

The only mistake you made was asking such a question on a forum, where opinions are like buttholes. Everyone has one, and many of them stink.

I'm thinking about going the double sided tape route. Can anybody recommend a brand strong enough to hold the plate but not strong enough to damage the paint?

2" wide industrial Velcro. Works GREAT.
Won't let the plate fly, either.

Get as many plates as you like.
Like a cheap-o 007 Revolving Number plate...

Put the male (hook) Velcro on the car and the loop (fuzzy) Velcro on the plates.

I disagree. I would say you have serious issues. Every post I've seen you make has been extremely negative or sharply critical. Hate life any? You need to relax.
