BPM Tune - the revelry.....

So, I recently got the BPM Sport tune and it's pretty damn amazing.

Mike was a pleasure to work with, extremely professional and it was all done very quickly. I even got my software updated to the new version (funny of course how I just came from service 3 days prior and they didn't even bother to update me at the dealership).

Some facts
- I took a coupe of days to let the car adapt before I wrote this review.
- Other than my K&N filter and OEM exhaust Mod, I have a stock engine setup.
- I have DCT.
- For both manual and auto my setting is level 4.
- I only use M-Mode when I have to (mwhahahha!!!)
- I like my martinis shaken, not stirred.

The Pull:
I spend most of my daily commute in the rev ranges of 3K to 6500K and the "usable" power difference is pretty obvious. From 3K rpm the engine just comes to life. Before this "feeling" would occur past 4200 rpm or so. When I do hit 4300 you really feel the TQ kick in (even in 5th gear)! Then the surge starts....all the way to my 8600 rpm redline. As most reviewers here have noted - the pull is a steady, strong, smooth surge of power. I can only imagine what it would be like for some of you with a primary Cat-delete or full exhaust systems.

- Overtaking now easily happens in 5th or 6th, depending on my speed.

- 2nd to 4th is very Torqueeeeee!!!!
- Even my off-the-line starts from stoplights are much "lunge-ier"

added plus: My exhaust note now sounds throatier and has more growl to it

All in all - Great tune and couldn't be happer! I highly recommend this tune. Jump off that fence if you're on it!

Yeah its just great how this mod really brings out more of a beast in the car. it isn't a Supercharger or turbo of course, but the "surge" I mentioned really is apparent. Even my shifts are WAY smoother. There are no more "DCT jerks" in the tranny when switching gears in auto mode, low speeds 4th to 2nd. Gone. There is just so much more "usable" power across the band - best way to describe it.

Couldn't agree more with your write up!

I've been running the BPMtune for over 10k miles and three track sessions. The car has been running strong with zero issues.
I remember being skeptical about the tune but since I got it I haven't looked back once .

You guys have the 91 or 93 tune versions? Personally having the 93 tune version of a tune (Not this one) I really think it has personally felt like its more consistently hitting peak power when I use 95 octane. I feel the cars if timing is set for 93, almost have to have ideal conditions to hit the targets. A couple more points of octane tend to ensure that. Not sure if its available to you but I actually notice a decent difference and have indeed logged my timing with 93 on warm days with hard driving and it starts pulling timing vs race gas 95 mix will keep hitting the targets

I have the BMC tune and couldn't be happier. One thing I noticed is, that the fuel efficiency has improved - 15.6l/100km down to 14.4. This is despite driving spiritedly and enjoying the tune. Also I have added the BMC filter since the tune and the transformation is just mind-boggling.

I am yet to experience Sports+ with the tune. Will go for a drive this morning after doing the spark plugs and will report.

All those who have BPM tune stop smiling all the time, and stop making excuses to drive the car all the time.

BMC has a tune?

Most of our customers see slight gains in MPG (especially if you're on it all the time)

Good to hear you're enjoying it and try sport plus when you have some time.

Let me know when you're ready for Stage II/Catless setup

I doubt a tune made your exhaust note growl more. I think it is your right foot pressing down further .

Thats what I was thinking. He is not the first to note that the tune makes the exhaust tone growl. Could be be due to the fact that VANOS is reprogrammed?

The tune does make your exhaust note growl more - this is a fact. Yes, it is the Vanos reprogramming and not Imaginative programming.

That is exactly the dilemma I am facing.

I am looking at having it done through my old buddy and mechanic who used to prep my GTI race cars. He is now specialized in Porsches and frequently does remote coding from Germany for his customers. He is well equipped.

Maybe you can find a reliable shop near you than can help you out.
