Scratched my front bumper!

Hey guys, I was parking and got a compression scratch right on front of my M3 bumper. Can someone give me a ballpark estimate on how much this costs to fix professionally? I don't think the bumper is dented. The scratch isn't deep, but I definitely think it needs to be repainted (its large). Do I have to repaint the entire panel? How much does that cost on a Jerez black M3?Anyone have an idea?

i got a repaint quote yesterday for 350 for the front bumper and about 450 for the hood. Just thinking ahead with rock damage i already have. If they can fix just the area it will be under that i would say but might as well have them fill your reflector holes while your at it and get the whole thing repainted?

Same thing happened to me. Might be a good time to swap out to a Euro bumper and get rid of the side markers.

Most likely they will spray just enough base coat to cover the damaged area and blend it in to the surrounding area, and then shoot clear over the entire fascia. It will probably be in the $500-800 range. Sorry to hear about the damage. Good luck with the repair.

I rubbed the left front side of the bumper on my garage door frame a couple of months ago. Only hit the plastic part. Looked ugly, but got it fixed for $200 at the BMW body shop. Not a big deal.

somebody should invent a scratch proof bumper.

I think it was Saturn that did color impregnated plastic bumpers...

anyway, when I scratched my rear bumper cover it cost $525 for a full respray, using PPG paint. I got a quote that was lower, around $450, but the shop was much further away. But at least that gives you an idea of what to expect to pay.

old lady backed right into my front bumper in a parking garage....as I stood there and watched. anyway, $614 is what the insurance adjuster is going to give me (and body shop agreed to) to fill a small "crease" in the bumber (4 inches max, no paint scratch) with epoxy and then paint it. Separately it is going to cost $300 to replace the clear bra I had on the bumper.

in an unrelated story, an old lady in chicago died of mysterious causes this week...
