For me it really looks sensational in late afternoon early morning light i.e. when there’s n direct sunlight on it.

The car would be JB, Black Leather, Carbon trim.
I love my JB E90, but it is a lot of work keeping it clean. Looks awsum after a clean and the blue hues look outstanding in the sun. But gotta say that JB, with Black Leather & Carbon interior sounds kinda too dark, I opted for Fox Red & Alu, to get some light on the interior...

Talking I like my Jerez Black

I got Jerez Black because it was a special M color and I got fox red interior combo because it was a special M color as well. Like everyone is saying it really looks good and is a nice color to have. You will have to wipe it off every now and then. I like for my car to look good and clean all the time I don't think you can go wrong with the color

The next question is what price should I be looking at with an 09' car. The MSRP is around 71k.

I have a Jerez Black Bmw m3 and its a really dark blue not at all black. It is easy to keep clean but with dark cars scratches come up very easy.

Brilliant. My reasoning exactly. JZB + FR look GREAT together. I'm constantly getting compliments on the color combo.

And, as someone opined earlier, other M-cars (X5 M, X6 M included) can be configured with the balance of the M3 exterior choices -- but so far, Jerez Black is ours alone.

I have JB and absolutely love the color. It is a real PITA to keep looking good, but if you are careful it will look good.

Of course my wife an neighbors think I am OCD about it.

The clearcoat will scratch pretty easily if you are not careful. I use Griots speed shine and speed wax on it after I wash it and everyone always comments on how good the color looks.

It is a pretty fussy color to deal with on a daily driver though.

From seeing the Jerez in person, I like it. The only problem (other than maintenance) is that the orange peel seems to show up more with this color. Hmm, I wonder how much it costs to get a good wet sand job?

Remember, all of these are subjective opinions. Try to find one at the dealer and compare it to the other colors.

I'm a member that usually posts on E90post, but the Jerez is somewhat similar to Monaco Blue on the 3er's, just that it's an exclusive M color. I happen to love Jerez Black, but I own a E92 Monaco Blue 335i so I like dark colors to begin with. If you guys need something to keep both Jerez and Jet Black clean, try some Detailer's Pro Final Gloss Quick Detailer. This stuff works great, doesn't streak in hot weather, and protects longer than a couple of days, plus gets rid of the nasty water spots and dust buildup that happens during the summer. I've had my 32 oz. bottle for a week and a half, used it on 4 different cars and they are all amazing looking, and for $20 it's a pretty good value.

How did you find a five-year-old thread to dig up? I think OP had to make a decision by now.

But I will agree with your assessment of JZB

I have Jerez Black and love the color. On some angles in the sun it doesnt compliment the carbon fiber roof though... But neither does the pure black

In my opinion, it's the classiest, most mature color for the M3. It doesn't scream "look at me!!", definitely one of the subtle colors.

Having said that, when you own it you would love the blueish/purple hue.

It tones down the car a ton. It's the most conservative paint for the car in my opinion. Without direct sunlight on it, it has a flat look. In direct light, it looks quite blue.

I'm personally bored of the color but it was either this or Jet Black. I really wish I could have gotten Sapphire Black.

Have your car washed once a week as you should with any color...that shouldn't deter you from getting the color you want.

It's all personal taste, but I love Jerez (enough so that I bought one). It is subtle, but almost has the appearance of a custom color shifting/Chameleon paint job. Depending upon the light it is anything from pure jet black to a deep blue.

It is also an "///M" color, so it keeps it a bit more rare. You don't see three cars with the same paint on the way to the grocery store.

The color is stunning in person when properly clean. I remember looking at an E93 in that color at my local dealer one night not long after the car was initially released and thinking how awesome it was sitting under the parking lot overhead lights. That said, coming from a Jet Black AMG Benz, I wouldn't wish the maintenance of black (and all variations thereof) on anyone. If you're up to the challenge, pull the trigger accordingly.

Agreed.

I've had Sapphire Black Metallic which IMO is a fine black paint that looks best on sedans and SUV's but looks pretty good on the F8x too. Strangers, beginning on the day I picked up the car, have favorably commented about the Jerez Black Metallic which is, as you note, rare, and it's not as if auto manufacturers offer a paint that's identical.

As many are aware, Jerez will not be found coating any other BMW series units or M models. It, unlike any other standard or individual paints peculiar to the E9x generations, has an iridescent character which sets it apart from the rest.
