Anyone installed a Remus SPORT exhaust on an E90 M3 sedan?

Anyone installed the SPORT version on their E90 M3 sedan? If so, do we have pics? Any advice or comments on the modification of the stock hangers to fit this? Cheers!

Wow no one has this on their M3 sedan? Thats hard to believe! Anyone know if this will fit the sedan? REMUS tells me that it should fit as the RACE and SPORT systems are identical on the exterior and the sedan is marginally smaller than the coupe so hangers may need to be modified? Anyone?

Prolly nobody has done it yet as the exhaust will stick out a couple more inches than on the coupe as the rear bumpers are different.

I have seen at least one exhaust with shorter tips made for the sedan. I thought it was Remus, but I can't recall now. Maybe it was a prototype.

That is the reason I am waiting....I want it to fit and look good, not have some ricer tips that stick out 3 inches. Also, I want to hear a few exhaust in person first....

Did you mean it will stick out a couple more inches on the COUPE? It will on the sedan. Eisenmann makes one for the sedan which has shorter tips, around 1.5 inches shorter as that is the difference in length in the coupe and sedan, the sedan is shorter. Since the stock exhaust pipes have to be cut, I feel we can cut these by an inch to compensate. Then if they stick out by another half inch, I dont really care. We'll see how it goes...

What I intended to convey was that if you order the coupe exhaust and put it on a sedan, the tips will stick out a couple inches more than they would on the coupe.

Not sure if cutting an extra inch will work as it may not align right with the hangers, etc. If youget it to align with the hangers, the tips will still stick out 1.5", or whatever. But I have no idea as I have not done it!

Let us know how it turns out!

The remus sport has been SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED on my E90 M3 sedan. Couple of notes for all those considering this install. The stock hangers are somewhat adjustable and have around an inch of play in them so you can sort of adjust how much the tips stick out. I left mine 'neutral' so the tips DO STICK OUT around an inch more than the stock exhaust. I chose this setup as I liked how it looks, a little more agressive IMO and I recall a similiar setup on old M3's & M5's with quad pipes. I'll try and put pics up. A real eye opener is HOW INCREDIBLE the exhaust sounds. Whoever said the stock exhaust was perfect has no idea what they are taking about. Im not a loud exhaust nut, in fact I like the car sorta mellow and it is with the windows up but with the windows down and WOT, the low end grunt followed by high revs is really something else. I would never own this M3 with stock exhaust and if I had heard it in person, I would have run home and ordered it sooner. It sounds a lot like the 2nd run in the white M3. The first run is an amature video I hear.

You said they could be tucked in 1 more inch right? If that's correct, this could be a proper fit if you're not into the look you've achieved!

BTW that is a race system!

There is a drone around 3000rpm that can get pretty anoying if your on the highway in 6th but overall it sounds great. You can install your self with some roll on ramps and a hacksaw mine came out perfect and you can push the mufflers in and out to achieve the look you want. Hope this helps!

And they will stick out another 1" or more when the system is hot. You just about have to have the pipes nearly level with the back bumper to allow for the expansion of the stainless steel system, I would adjust that.

You say a drone at 3000revs, nearly went with Remus but went race eisenmann instead.

A drone at 3000revs in a sedan not good for the kids or whoevers in the back....mmmm.

Remus may have to fix that?

One can argue the OEM system has drone already around the 2k RPM range. Our SPORT system, which is TUV approved, is a great option if you are looking for minimal drone and a sport tone.

The RACE system should be purchased by those looking for a proper and loud tone, there will be some resonance, after all, it is a racing system with little perforations to promote the best performance gains possible.

That maybe so, but if you trying sell your exhaust system against other brands which nearly all give the same power gains and sound then a drone at 3000 revs in a sedan is probably not the exhaust I would want.

If you have the choice of a 3000 rev or 2000 rev drone, then I would go with 2000 revs. In testing & the R & D of this exhaust you can adjust where this rev drone appears in the way where baffels are place, construction type, material used inside and out.

The race exhaust I have has a small drone around 1700 rev, most other forum member using this exhaust stated there's was at around 2000 revs. I made changes on the joining pipes where the left & right muffler have interconnecting pipes which changed the resonance.

So it's not a hard thing to do, but at cruising highway speed in top gear, a 3000 rev drone I would not be happy with in a sedan. I could live with it at 2000.

I never stated you exhaust was'nt any good, its just you have competition out there.

I do agree, however I believe we should compare apples with apples.

Eisenmann sport uses a baffled/chambered design.
Backpressure reduction: 25%
Remus sport uses a straight through design.
Backpressure reduction: 63%

Obviously these values will vary depending on multiple variables such as barometric pressure, etc.

Both are TUV approved.

Eisenmann race uses straight through design.
REMUS race uses straight through design with a limited amount of perforation in the inner core.

To summarize, the REMUS sport is a closer match to the EISENMANN race in regards to construction type. The REMUS race cannot be compared to the EISENMANN race in regards to sound. While they both carry the "RACE" label, sound varies.

Nate@IND is welcome to add his input on this.

Yes! A specific E90 M3 exhaust is on the R&D schedule according to Remus AT.
