there won't be any changes made. that's a promise. there's no way it will be cost effective for them to make changes now. (reference the head of M talking about why m3 isn't getting the new angel eyes before f32)

you've got at least until end of this fall to place an order.

Where did he talk about that? I know why the M3 won't get new LED lights like the new E92/E93s, but I never saw the official response.

Does anyone have an allocation yet? Anyone able to give us a date for pickup on ED if we were to order now?

Yes, 2012. I want to take ED and trying to schedule when to be there but I guess BMW has not released any info yet... I might get stuck ordering a 2011, ugh...

October 15th is the first date I've heard to pick up MY2012, from 2-3 sources.

Since that day is a Saturday, it could be Monday Oct 17th.

SamS is correct on the first ED date...
if you are getting a E92 or E93...that is what you need to shoot for. But if its a E90, some have said that there is no 2012 E90 M3.

Thanks for the info guys. That really sucks though, my wife is going to be pissed when I tell her we might not go to Germany until Oct... the warm weather will be well on it's way out.

edit: Any idea on when info would be released for any changes made to 2012? Also, when does the plant shut down production on 2011 m3s? If there are no changes, might as well just get a 2011 (might be better option vs pissing off the wife...)

Oktoberfest!, well I think it ends in very early October, but maybe you could shoot for that.

Note that Oktoberfest is actually in September and we you check for deliveries, they are totally closed in August. Add 4 weeks plus to any car around that time.

Here in SE Texas, October is hot as hell still

Yea they are all on Holiday during the month of August. Normally, well in the past, they begin production on the next model year in Sept. However, due to production not starting until mid October for MY2012 (I guess related to some emissions crap) does that mean MY2011 will continue to be produced during September instead? Maybe I could just go in Sept and get a 2011?

Also, wasn't there supposed to be another special addition announced sometime in the Spring available for MY2011?

MY2012 E92/93 M3 will start at PW36 (Sept 5th), E90 M3 EOP is 07/11.

The first ED date for MY2012 pickup of October 15th is so far tentative as MY2012 emission certificate has not been finalized yet, according to BMW. I'm trying to get my MY2012 E92 M3 ED for Sept 22th if BMW/Individul can circunvent the USA regulations as the car will be delivered in Europe, so by the time it gets back in the USA whatever certification required should be finalized by then.

The MY2011 E92/E93 M3 Individual editions for the USA started production this month, so they should be ready for late June/early July introduction. No specific details yet, other than the M Peformance steering wheel in Alcatara will be part of this edition.

Interesting. This is the first I've heard about emissions certifications. Makes sense I guess.
