For the trunk try standing slight to the side when opening.

I have the same issue with the trunk too. I press the trunk release on the trunk and it doesn't open when the key is in my pocket. I have to press it 4-5 times before it pops open. Sometime I have to take the key out and press the button on the key. When i do this, my panic alarm goes off. It's annoying how u can't pop the trunk once by pressing the remote button. Press too short, nothing happens - press too long and panic alarm goes off.

Is there an easier way???

Just wondering if there was ever a solution for extremely poor to non existent CA on these cars?

My is so bad I cannot lock or unlock using the fob from more then 2' away and it will not lock using my finger (2 out of 50 times it will I guess)

Haha old thread but interesting enough - I'm having a range issue it seems too with my remote/CA. 2009 E93.

My previous 2011 E90 never had an issue and had WAY more range than this one. Wonder if it's a Convertible variant issue?

Nah, on my 2009 335i I could unlock it from quite a distance by pointing the remote down, but on my 2009 E90 M3 I have to get quite close at times. Comfort Access always works for me, the remote range is pretty annoying

My previous E93 335i never gave me any CA issues.

Wonder if people who have issues possibly keep the fob in a case which may affect signal.

Although I don't have issues, I do find my Toyota Prius CA is much smoother and more responsive...

Had these irritating issues first year. Cleared som unrelated codes (Carly) after a battery low voltage instans. Both remote and CA has been working perfect since. Might be worth unplugging the battery for a minut to reset the module?

I'll try scanning for codes and see what happens!

I have been told, but cannot find the info... The key fob speaks to the antennae on the back of the car. If the fob is not the issue then the issue is in the antennae. The antenna is not communicating with the fob or the signal has been reduced.

That is my understanding. My Indy was going to look into replacing the fin but we never got around to it. So little info online about it. If you had a donor car you guys could swap and see if it is duplicated in both cars. Mine is on my 328, so I don't think it would swap with my M3.

There are a few placed around the car. Could possibly be an issue with any of them.

i was wondering what this was ... now i know. last time i washed the car it locked and unlocked by itself twice. I took the key out of range as i thought that was kind of odd.

You can deactivate the CA from "going crazy" when washing your car by putting the key fob in the slot beside the Push Button.

I am going to try replacing my sensors as a next step in solving this puzzle. My last resort will be to replace the CA module however the dealer will need to do that as it also needs to get coded. The 3 sensors do not require any coding.
