If its me you'll have to tell me where to go, I don't know the area BTW I also love the new x5 - even though it is about 6cms too long for me (480 cm would have been perfect, same length as the XC90). I am afraid to see the new pricing on it-I fear that with the 3rd row option, its going to go for at least 65K, which is starting to be a little on the expensive side of not cheap. |

No, I have not seen any pricing yet. There are some Euro sites with "educated guesses" but those numbers are useless here, cannot extrapolate really.

Hi Guys
I have good news. My amended order went through so I should have my car by the end of October. It's going to be a painful wait but luckily I'll be very busy during that period so the time should just fly by. |

How often do you guys meet? When will be the next one after October?
Also, for regular city driving will brakes and tires last 60,000 kms in a manual. Is it worth getting the maintenance plan? And is Sherlock a good investment? |

I think we all decided NOT to get the maintenance plan.....about two weeks ago if you care to scroll back....
I looked this up recently at Bimmerfest and most e46 owners were changing brakes and rotors at 60,000 miles. Well, our last meet was last November, so it took us all year to book another one!! Maybe we'll plan another one just to get exhaust blown in our faces by your 328!

I would be tempted to invest in the Sherlock-its about $200 for a complete engraving and it really does deter the local area resell thieves (nothing deters the export market-car-is-on-container-in-thirty-minutes thieves). My wife has it on the x3 but I did not get it bcs it looks bad on the lights (they engrave the lights) |

I don't know anybody at dawson anymore that I can think of. I'm hoping the 4 killed are the shooters and that the 16 injured will be okay. http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/americ....ap/index.html "dressed in black" Seriously WTF is wrong with people... jesus. |

My colleague's mother teaches at Dawson and was locked in her office during the ordeal!!!
I found an article you may want to read on winter tires by the APA. It has some good information and recommendations. http://www.apa.ca/template.asp?DocID=97 Findtom, how are your Toyo Garit HTs in winter? They were recommended to me. Are you happy with them? |

The reason I went for a toyos is because they are reasonably priced, they are also supposed to be good for 4 solid seasons so I'm hoping to get at least 3 the way I drive. I still went through 40% of the rear tread on the first season... doh! Note that the blizzaks and some others are good because they have very soft rubber which won't last long if you drive aggressively. Edit: I realize now that last part was in your article. So the first time I saw a pic of the E92 I didn't like it... then I looked at it again and I loved it.
The first time I saw the E92 in person (last weekend in Laval) I didn't like it... then I saw the 328/335 in the Jalbert showroom today and I'm in love all over again. So it looks like I'm over the new X5 and back to obsessing about the more affordable 335i. We'll see what happens when I see the new X5 in person. I'll be sure to keep you guys posted, I'm sure this is all facinating for you! Cliffs: I want to make babies with the 335i. |
