Engine and throttle feel extremely sluggish after service??

Had my spark plugs, Dinan air intake filter, engine oil, diff fluid, and tranny fluid replaced.
Picked up the car, about to merge on the hwy full throttle and the car was very sluggish and the throttle response was completely lacking. The throttle actually feels a bit strange, not "snappy" at all. The DSC also engaged once or twice at a very odd time.

Any thoughts??
Have to call the dealer tomorrow morning.

Spark plugs would be the most likely suspect IMO. Perhaps not gapped properly? Although they come pre-gapped, so hard to believe unless they used the wrong ones.

You can confirm the intake filter is installed in a few minutes if you have some torx bits/screwdrivers.

That sucks man; good luck.

Im guessing it might be the plugs also. Might have used the wrong ones?
I checked the filter, it all seemed like it was OK there.
Got a track day Friday, hopefully its nothing.

Any chance they overwrote your Dinan software and didn't tell you about it? Although, it sounds like the loss of power your are describing is more pronounced then a simple change of 10whp or so...

I thought of that too, but it would take a while, plus give me a CEL light. Also, I think even with the stock software, the car should not feel so sluggish, the throttle has a lot of play at the beginning.

I'll ask the dealer though for sure.

Possible. Did they reconnect the hose to the elbow?

Even if the hose wasn't connected well, that shouldn't cause the issues described. A vacuum leak will only happen on the manifold side.

Hope you get it sorted. How many miles have you put on since the service? CEL may not show up immediately if your car was reflashed, but am guessing if they reflashed the car that would show up on the service invoice.

I think they used the wrong plugs. On the work order my SA said it was the right part numbers.

About 50km.
There was no need to flash the car, so I doubt that's it. They only had to reset some of the service time indicators in the iDrive.

Taking it back Thursday morning.

Did you verify the part numbers?

Just pull one and check it.

Let us know what you find out. Did you forget to push the "power" button back to on.....

4th gear, at 120km or roughly 70mph, foot to the floor and revs take forever to build up. Idle is smooth though.

Sounds like a plug (or plugs). I blew a plug last year, but for me it was much higher in the rev range - dont recall which one

I just got my 08 M3 back from the dealer, having its 60K service and check done. Oil + filter, transmission fluid change and software update. Car feels MUCH better, so it must be the plugs. Do they need a break-in period for the electrode to wear in? I had those changed about 6k miles ago but noticed no difference in power (although the electrode was basically non-existent on the old plugs, as they had 52K miles on them, original plugs)

Hopefully its the plugs, simple fix. Can I do any damage by driving it?

I don't think new plugs need a break in period these days.

You wouldn't happen to know the part number would you? I searched for them on the board. I would check all of them.

I'm definitely no mechanic but I think you should be okay, just dont push the car hard. I'm guessing no limp mode to this point?
