Do I really have ZCP or did I get taken by the dealer?

Howzit fellas,

I bought my 2011 E90 M3 ZCP back in May of this year. It was used with around 7K miles on it. Apparently it was a return from some high up mucky muck from the BMW Irvine office. It was the exact car I built online so I jumped on it as it was a pretty good deal.

My car was manufactured on 03/10 though so it's an early production. I found out the other day that I do not have the auto start / stop feature and am now questioning if my car is indeed a ZCP. Car was purchased @ BMW of Escondido and all the print outs and paper work says it has ZCP but I'm wary since it has no auto start / stop button.

I do have the ZCP wheels and the car does seem to sit as low as my buddy's '08 E90 with Dinan springs. How else can I confirm it has the ZCP option?

I have the following M button settings:

EDC: Comfort / Normal / Sport
DSC: Off / On / M Dynamic Mode
Power: Normal / Sport / Sport Plus
Servotronic: Normal / Sport

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

If you have the ZCP wheels, there is a very good chance you have one. I don't think (99% sure) that the Auto Start/Stop option has anything to do with ZCP.
Post a pic of the wheels and how it sits on the car... I will be able to tell you then if you have one or not.

early '11 builds (second half of 2010) could have the ZCP option but no auto start/stop feature.

As previously mentioned, auto start/stop has nothing to do with the ZCP package.

99.9% sure you got ZCP, only other possibility is that your dealer swapped wheels and dropped the car... highly unlikely.

Auto - Start / Stop button has nothing to do with ZCP...... and your M button settings also have nothing to do with ZCP....

May be do some research????

If you have the ZCP specific wheels as Lois mentioned above, you most likely have the ZCP option.

A BMW dealer can print your car's specific options based on your VIN#

EDIT: Yes, you do have ZCP wheels and I am sure hence the option.

Go to KBB.com and enter your vin - it should give you a listing of the factory installed options on the car. Another option is to go to a different BMW dealer and have them read the info from your key fob (contains vin) - once they put the fob into the reader they can pull up all options installed by the factory and, I believe, print them out for you.

However, unless someone swapped wheels on your car, it certainly looks like you have the zcp package.

You know, I'm actually not sure it's even an M3!
It might be a 328 with dealer installed body parts.
You should seriously check into this before ever getting a good night's rest.

jeez, just take the VIN # to another dealer, ask them to run it, and see what options the car came with

If you have the sales/window sticker of the car that lists the price and all the options, and it lists ZCP, then you have ZCP

How do you have a MY2011 if your car was made on may 2010?

Because BMW changed model years on the M early. The 2010s were only made for a few months if that. I believe most of the cars that year carry the 2011 model year...

If your suspension is active in EDC Sport mode then you have ZCP.

I realize it's a subjective test, but I'll bet if you compared to a known non-ZCP back to back you could tell.
