DCT Manual Shift Delay Into 3, 5, and 7

I apologize if this topic has been covered already, but I was unable to find an existing thread for this.

I have an '08 DCT with 60k miles and noticed that during manual shifting, regardless of Drivelogic level and RPM, there is a noticeable delay when shifting into odd numbered gears. Shifts from 1 to 2, 3 to 4, and 5 to 6 are very quick, however 2 to 3, 4 to 5, and 6 to 7 are slow in comparison. Does anyone know what might be causing this?

I just joined this site to chime in here. I think I'm having the same issue here. Engagement of the odd gears is slightly slower than the even gears.

My car has about 26,000 on it, and I first noticed this a few hundred miles ago.

I'm wondering a few things. Since there are two clutches, one for the even gears, and one for the odd gears, is it possible they could be unevenly wearing? Could lots of stop and go traffic unevenly wear the clutches? What if the previous owner of my car launch controlled the fuck out of it?

Also is it possible that a DCT re-learn or re-adapt could alleviate this issue? I'm not entirely sure this is software, as last year I had the entire car updated for other issues, so everything is current as of September of last year. I was also thinking a DCT tune might make things better, for example the Dinan tune.

So low and behold, took the car out today and now it feels totally fine. I wonder if the DCT adjusted itself or something. I'll reply back if it happens again.

can only be done from the factory tool from what I hear.

Correct, the BMW service computers can do it.

It should be noted that the M-DCT is self-adjusting. It's not like the SMGs that needed to be recalibrated periodically. In theory, you should never have to use the computer to do anything unless the transmission is serviced/replaced.

Ugh, I wish I could remember. I thought it was posted on here in the past: the M-DCT is self-adjusting and shouldn't need calibration.

Mine is the other way around mine speed up I could be doing 40mph and I'm in 7th gear. And today the transmission sign came on the dealer said that I need to replace my transmission pan which is about $1100

So I had the GTS update done to my transmission by Alex at Alpine Motorsports just a half hour ago and the hesitation is completely gone. All gears engage quickly now! Feels like I'm driving a PDK. Highly recommend!

That good eh? Makes me really think about getting the dinan tune since its basically the same thing.

Well...PDK might be an exaggeration, but it's definitely quicker
