Quiet catless exhaust

I am looking for a cat less exhaust who is as quiet as possible, right know I have the RPI midpipes and stock muffler and my neighbors hate me. The sound is very raspy and to loud.

I have some options.
1.Rebuild the RPI mid pipe and adding tvo resonators and an x pipe.to break the exhaust pulsations, I am not sure this will work but I could give it a try.

2.Find a muffler that removes the raspy sound and reduce the sound

3. ??

I have searched the forum but didn’t find anything useful, any advice is welcome.

I don't know, Per, I kinda think the resonators do more to reduce drone than overall sound. Even HFCs at 100cell seem to make very substantial differences in sound decrease vs straight downpipes. Borla has a quad resonator catless pipe that won't be too much pocket pain if you don't like it. I've only heard that thing on a stock exhaust, but my bet is on any aftermarket muffler it will drastically increase decibels.

Cats act as mufflers, by removing thrum the exhaust will be louder. No way around that.

I'm looking forward to an Evolve X-pipe & Remus street configuration. Second choice for me is the Challenge X-pipe & Remus.

I just installed the Dinan midpipe this past weekend and I would say that it doesn't increase the volume of the exhaust that much. I paired the pipe with the Bastuck rear section, which is pretty quiet, but the increase is not a raspy sound, it is more of a deep sound. Doesn't sound like a mustang but it does sound like it has a V8. When you do hit the gas and get above 5000 rpm the sound does increase as well as the power, but for normal driving I don't think the car is much louder than just the rear section. I will try to get some vids later. Look at the vids of the full dinan setup, the Bastuck is more mild than the dinan rear section.

With the Gintani Catless X-pipe/resonators, combined with the stock exhaust, it is not much louder than stock while cruising, it's only loud when you get on it, exactly how I want it.

Are you running 4 or just 2 resonators?

I'm in the same boat as you Per ... I'm just going back to stock x-pipes with a rear system

4 resonators, while cruising it's not loud guys, now the Borla was LOUD at every throttle position!

I was not that happy with the sound of the RPI midpipe so this i what i did.
A complete rebuild of the midpipe , with a new X-pipe and two new mufflers, the terrible rasp disappeared it is still quite loud under Vot but this is how i want it, Quiet during cruising and normal driving, and aggressive during vot, i am very happy with the result

Adding a Remus Sport paired with your current setup should be enough to quiet the exhaust down somewhat. The Remus Sport Exhaust is one of the quietest systems on the market.

They do sound great when paired with X-Pipes though!

The RPI has no resonators or cats, so it will of course by nature, be louder. the other factor that contributes to the sound, and rasp, is that they moved he X section back about 8 inches or so. This has an effect on the sound as well.

I would recomend at least adding a set of good sized resonators to take the volume down. It may also cut down the rasp a tad. If you are looking for a full replacement, many are out there of course if you dont want to hack one up.

Add resonators and the rasp should tone down/be gone.

not to thread jack, but im kinda in the opposite boat. I have an ES and I want more sound, but I dont want to delete my primary Cats.

I'm wondering what combination of secondary cats/resonators will give me a nice sound under WOT.

So for those running Gintani Catless pipes, are there any concerns with CEL?
I'm coming from an E60 M5 runnning without secondary cats and the sensors were all before the scondary cats and had no problems.
I thought I read on these forums that you would throw a CEL with this setup.
Thanks and sorry if its been posted before.

After some searching it seems that
Gintani X-pipe(Catless) with 4 resonators + stock muffler= fairly drone free but CEL
Gintani X-pipe(HFC) + stock mufflers = fairly drone free without CEL

Does everyone agree? Also can you add 2 resonators with the HFC setup?

My setup with X-pipe and 2 resonators stock mufflers, has no drone at all.
