Well you are a step ahead with seats. I know they make a huge difference. I wasted money on aero first to look cool.

Biggest nightmare I had with mine was getting perfect fix point for the 6 point harness. Found out the anti-subs doesnt work well with every floor mount

A half cage is the least amount of protection you'd want if you are putting in full harnesses.

While agree 100% a half cage is safer, just isn't realistic for most daily drivers. The harness bar is a compromise.

Nice setup!! What cage? Im leaning toward autopower. I have quotes from 3 others and can't touch em at these prices.

I wish we had more east coast folks with seats in so I can try them out..

We have two great race shops here in Seattle - 425 Motorsports and Cantrell - will be going to one of them most likely..

It's a bad compromise. If you can't put a half cage in then don't run harnesses. It's a matter of choice I suppose but running real harnesses (not quick-fits) without a cage is not a choice I'd make with my safety.

well technically the only use I put it to is a 20 minute drive to work and back - I don't drive it around anywhere else - for everything else we use my wife's SUV.

not really no. the belt receptacle needs to be routed into the hole, otherwise if you crash the pretensioner will destroy the seat and will not hug your hips (since the belt is routed over the seat) so you will slide under the belt and injure yourself further.

this is the reason i never bought a seat!

Yup. harness/seat/roll structure/mounting should definitely be considered and installed as a system, it's not a piecemeal process IMO, not if you're actually prioritizing safety first, though I understand we all have different priorities and risk tolerance

<- Seen too much wild stuff happen on track to think differently...

I'm with you. I'm planning on trading my x5 in for x5d and getting a trailer next year maybe so I can do ORP, PIR, Thunderhill without having to drive my car so far with a less than friendly street set up. Make that call before you do the cage so you can go full cage right off. Best never to need it but better safe than sorry. Accidents happen!
