Never heard that one before but I think I'll use it from now on

You are right in that the bumper is designed as a cosmetic upgrade however the openings on either side are larger than factory which will help direct more air into those ducts for the intake and oil cooler. It's a form and function feature of the bumper although you cannot expect 15-20HP gains from the increased air flow that's for sure.

Our cars don't even have brake ducts do they???

I wasn't sure how to interpret that line either. How exactly is "more air directed to the brake ducts" when they don't even exist?

The driver side opening in the fender is for the intake. If they made that opening larger so that there is an opportunity to channel some air into the wheel well, maybe I can see what they are saying, but that would also require cutting a hole in the fender liner and so on.

The passanger side opening is for the transmission oil cooler, which already vents into the wheel well.

Then, there is the question of what blowing some air into the wheel well accomplishes exactly in the absence of ducting to a modified back plate. I am sure it does something, but I don't know how significant that can be.
I am sure that line was written by JLewi ... sounds like them ...

Vorsteiner had their front bumper cover on Badfish's car at the Premier meet today. I think it looks great in person, but I prefer a clean look that only someone who knows about the cars will notice. It really appealred to me on that level. But if you want something aggressive or radical then it's definitely not for you. I personally don't like the Ericsson because it doesn't match the rest of the car. Even if you do the Ericsson sideskirts and rear bumper it looks out of place. Just MHO.

I think exactly the same about the Ericsson aero kit... it is too cartoonish for me and it does not match anything in the M3.

I would like to see this Vorsteiner bumper with splitters intead of the race lip... I like the way it integrates the lip into the bumper without looking add-on.

The splitters are coming and I can't wait. I have some other pix but my time at the show was cut short by my GF's dental appointment. The grills are the BMW performance gloss black kidney grills and I left the lip area around the grill exposed and smoked CF. Big thanks to Evan at Tischer BMW for rushing out a set of grills for me.

There are a lot of subtle changes that aren't easy to see in that bumper... Getting rid of the reflectors was big to me as well as having a lip/splitter that was replaceable and integrated. I like being able to use the OEM lower grill, those cheap flat metal hardware store grills just don't look right to me.

I think they should've done something different ... Why would you want E46 M3 looking front lip to have on your new car ? It looks like they are trying to fit old e46 look on new e92

Here is e46 M3 front lip from Vorsteiner's website doesn't it look the same ?

One question is y would you pay this much for a bumper that looks like the OEM bumper with a lip attached ?

I love that front lip, that's exactly what I've always wanted on my M3....

But why a whole bumper for just that? I don't really care what anyone says, that's a 90% OEM bumper design right there, with an awesome lip attached (and the subtle differences but I mean, original point.) Not worth paying 1.7k+ for IMHO.

And how much are the realistic weight savings? Our OEM front bumper apron is already pretty light as it is.

But for what it's worth, that 1 piece front lip is the best one out on the market in my opinion. If only we could buy that separately for the OEM front bumper: I'd buy it in a heartbeat...

Yup.
only thing is that the bumper + carbon fiber lip is only $400 more than the carbon fiber lip vorsteiner currently offers
which reuses the oem bumper
so minus reflectors, it's less than $400 more than the lip
all getting jipped yo

I ended up going with the RD Sport Bumper... It was a close call between the VRS and the RD Sport but ultimately went RD. Both are nice pieces and I personally like products that look like they could be OEM instead of Ricer Way Out There Look.
