Thanks for correcting me. I'm glad the thread police are alive and well here.
But didn't I say. > "Just can't justify the extra $1400." Sorry my extra information was out of line. Geez |

My leather after 3 years and 40,000 miles on my Z4 is holding up and looks great. The wearing im sure would be from dragging against the seat
with maybe rivets on jeans repetitively. Leather makes the car look more elegant and there are beautiful combinations available. 5'10", 210 lbs so weight is clearly not an issue for me. It's how people maintain, clean, condition and method of getting in an out that makes or breaks the leather. |

Eh I got leatherette and I don't really care. It looks good enough for me. If it wears I am going to get a set of the racing seats or wrap the old sports seat with alcantara. I think $1400 is enough to cover that.

I guess having this thread, it basically lets us know HOW to treat the leather now.
1. Don't be hard on it getting in and out. 2. Take care of it, clean/condition. 3. Don't let dogs, cats, lions, tigers, crawl all over in it. 4. Don't use it for a construction vehicle. I guess I will just take ALL the advice in this thread and take a little more care of the leather. AND if my drivers seat wears fast, I will just have it RE-COVERED if it starts to look like SHIT. Thats the ONLY seat that will wear in my "1". All the other seats are for looks. |

Foolproof? I guess it depends on the fool!! What I've found is that keeping the leather clean and using a good conditioner every 3 months works wonders. While I prefer the Zymol, I've also had good results with Connolly Hide Care. Greasy? No, but it will make the seats a bit slippery for a brief period of time. Tom |
