Rod bearings plus other work?

'09 daily driver with 99k miles. Doing rod bearings next month (planning to keep the car for at least 2-3 more years).

Question...other than motor mounts, are there any other jobs that make sense to do while doing the rod bearings? Was thinking alternator since the skid plate has to be dropped and pulling the fan is only a tiny bit more work (?) to access the alternator (which is still original).

Other must-do's?

The serpentine ancillary drive belt(s) and belt tensioner idlers are worth doing - especially if they are original.

Add a Dipstick using Bimmerworld's kit. Or send them your oil pan to have it modified while it's off.

If you have concerns about the power steering reservoir leaking/overflowing, either the Bimmerworld reservoir or other retrofit is something to consider. This is more of an issue with cars that are tracked.
