once a year service - really?
I am a new BMW owner, I find it hard to believe that my car needs service once a year. I would have thought that you would at least need an oil change more often than once a year. Thoughts.

i bought my car, not leased, so I do 2 a year, once in the spring once in the fall regardless of KM. I only put about 15000 a year on the car, but I still like to know it has fresh oil

I do my oil changes every 5,000 to 10,000km. In my opinion, 25,000km intervals and dirty oil can lead to allot of problems. If you plan on keeping the car after warrenty wears out, than it doesent hurt to be a little careful.

of course they will tell you 10k oil changes..so by time warranty runs out..problems start to occur....i did mine every 4-5k max....or after every track day......

oil change every 10000kms or twice a year......more than that (without tracking) is a waste of money. Let's give synthetic oil some credit.

I am happy with doing an oil change in the middle of the interval stated on the car (12k) or 1 year. I use the oem stuff, and think that is more than enough for me.
