I just put Luminics H8s in my car and they too were "lose". Visually inspecting them I could see no dimensional differences. It appears the issue is that the grommet/washer is simply more flexible than the OEM ones so they don't fit as snugly. I have no reason to believe they will come lose and they seem to seal well. I didn't see yours, so maybe your issue was different, but I thought I'd throw it out there

They look OK.... but I was hoping for much bluer. I might go the LED route for a real blue, but only if the prices come down. Replacing the H8s is a real PIA so I'm happy stalling!

You're supposed to use the OEM orange washers on the GPs.

On many new cars the fog lights do this, but since the M3 doesn't have fog lights...
The cornering lights also turn on whenever the lights are on and the car is put in reverse, regardless of speed. Seems to be an undocumented feature.

Hmmm... interesting. Can't imagine the reason for that, though. Add to the trivia collection. Hey, we should have a trivia sticky!

Very nice, I like the color since it doesn't have a ricer look to it.
Is the first pic with the OEM lights?

Angel eyes operation

What I just noticed yesterday, is the halos run at reduced brightness when you turn on the parking lights manually (very yellow), but enable the DRLs and they are much brighter.

Thats right Greg, so during the day I leave my lights in the Auto or Off position, DRLs are activated in iDrive and are bright during the day. In Auto, when the sensor turns on the low beams, the DRLs dim, I assume this is so they aren't too bright in low light conditions.

I wish there was an easier way than iDrive to choose dimmed or bright. The only time I'd want them dimmed is when they are truly use as parking lights.

LED conversion for halos

I wonder if these PIAA LED conversions would work on the M3? Says it is for the E90. Doesn't look anything like the H8s, though. The regular E90 must use different bulbs?

no it wont work on the M3. These are for Reg e90 bimmer.

E92 angel eye mechanics are different with the reg e90 car. All model of e9x M3 is base on E92 angel eye mechanics.

Yes its an awesome Product. However, they are very costly. over 300+ USD for an angel eye light bulb.

The only problem with all e92 model angel eye is whenever u turn on the headlights. the outter rim is very dim and it just doesnt look good.

ppl are working on a solution atm, but LED technology is one better way than the GP Thunder bulb. Again, they are costly. if u are willing to pay for it, go for it, otherwise just wait and hope someone found a solution.

I don't think we'll ever see a reasonable solution in any time soon... No solution for the 3 series E92s; don't think the M3 will get any special attention either... at least I hope it will, it deserves the best!

Surely an auto electrician could pretty quickly work out how to ensure full bright angel eyes when low beams are ON.

As I posted above, they are much brighter in DRL mode. LEDs are trick to dim, so I question if they will work properly in parking lamp dimmed mode. I am going to contact PIAA for advice.
